This is a wonderful community resource. I attended a variety of free workshops (Excel basics, Resume-writing, Interviewing, Networking) and found them all very helpful. I also appreciated and benefited from the one-on-one resume review. Thank you for providing many great services to the community.

This place is so amazing!!! (I'm from Montana, and we do not have something like this.)

You can go to many different types of training classes such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, or help with your resume for example. There are multiple people on-site always ready to assist you with all your employment search needs.

Many years ago they even gave me a voucher to go across the street to Will County Community Concerns for their clothing closet so I could have a few professional clothes for an interview and prospective job I was trying for.

In the past, I even attended a sort of networking group that was a sounding board of sorts for people to find out about professional opportunities from each other. (I cannot recall what they called it and I am unsure if they still have it.)

You have representatives from all around the county to help, including from JJC. They offer grant opportunities for in-demand careers here in IL, so be sure to inquire about it!!

The bus stop is super close, so you can get here to use their computers (tons of them) for job search or resume, meet with career coordinators, attend a class, or even grab a packet of the current job fairs they are part of. If you are like me there is ample parking, even though there are multiple offices in the building. (Also an area to pull up and drop off or pick-up right in front.)

Although I did enjoy receiving a scholarship they offer no support at all. I gave this review specifically because of my Experience with Miss Ellis very rude, unprofessional and unpleasant interactions my opinion very self serving individual.

I registered the day before workshop, and was able to get into class smoothly. They had a guest speaker here from state of Il to explain the new process of applying for state jobs. Everyone was nice, helpful, and the new information was very timely, helpful and relevant. They have classes for Microsoft, and LinkedIn. Yes I know them, but it's helpful to get refreshed and updated on because things are constantly changing.

I recently paid a visit in order to see what resources they had to offer. Upon entering I was greeted and asked "How can I help you"? I Informed them that I wanted to know what they had to offer. I was then told to grab a job fair flyer and that a gentleman by the name of Jim would get me on the computer. He did just that, however he did not explain in depth what resources they had to offer even though I informed them that was what I was here for. The information and communication from the staff for a person who is new to this place and is very unfamiliar with their services is very lacking. Had I been greeted by someone who would have been informative from the beginning, I would've given more stars. I just wanted to inform whomever is in charge and happens to read this review what needs to be done in order to help those of us who would like to benefit the working class of people. Please talk to your staff and let them know we are in the dark when walking through the door as a new person. When it's explicitly said that "I am new to this, what do you have to offer"? , Someone should willingly and openly specify in depth what it is they have to offer. Afterwards the following should be asked are there any questions? I forgot to mention I was given a card but I don't know what it's used for. Yet I was told that is the only way I can work on a workforce computer. When I received it, Jim did not show me how to use it. So I logged off the computer that he originally logged me onto, and I attempted to do it with the card and it did not work. Clearly I'm doing something wrong but again nothing was explained to me in depth. I will give it a second try in the near future. Should my visit happen by chance to be better I will come back with a better rating. Until then please keep in mind that your staff needs to show a little bit more professionalism by assisting more.

The staff are all incompetent, unprofessional, rude, and rather lacking in mental capacity. I really wanted to emphasize unprofessional as this is a place where people come to be aided in finding a job or in professional workplace services when the people here don’t even know how to conduct themselves. Be ready to be lied to and talked down to like a child. It’s not worth the trip to come here try to find any other workplace center to go to or even a community college job center would be better.
