What an amazing set of trails. They are lots of hills and changes in elevation over 150 feet throughout the entire trail system. Great for advanced mountain bikers. Hiking is our favorite thing to do on these trails. The park areas are great for family events. The trails are not good for younger children or people without experience in tougher terrain, especially for people on bikes. No strollers or wagons recommended. Lots of parking and quality facilities. Trails are marked very well.

This is a very beautiful area but it can be improved. Please designate some the trails by Pulaski Woods walking only. No bikes. I have now twice seen hikers drove into tree branches because of mountain bikers not wanting to slow down. I know these are forest preserves that are marked for mountain biking. That’s fine but even polite people on bikes (in this area they seem to be the minority)need to have momentum when approaching a hill so it’s a pain to slow down for hikers. There are parts of the trail coming off the Pulaski Woods parking lot that are grass covered so there are already fewer bikes there. It would be great and safe if that area had “no bikes” signs. As an older taxpayer who enjoys and supports the environment I hope this review is seen and acted upon. Let’s face it. Many people in our society are rude and don’t care about others. You can leave most of the trails open to bikes but just give one nice trail in this area for hikers and dog walkers only.

Great trails for walking, hiking, running and mountain biking. Single track trails and limestone/gravel. Go there all year round.

We loved this Forest Preserves. It was quiet and very beautiful. There are lots of trails. This is the perfect time for a wedding, bike ride or a picnic. Bring the bug spray!
