This library is conveniently located (in waterworld parking lot) and very clean. It provides helpful services like tag renewal/registration on Fridays, printing/scanning services, passports, voting & registration, free Wi-Fi, use of computers, board games, book clubs, classes, and more. You can also rent equipment. Some rentals include: PlayStation 4 & Xbox 1 games, DVDs, audio books, hotspots, cameras, etc. The full list can be found on the library’s website (more available at the downtown location). Call ahead to check availability. I would like to see more books for children of all ages and more classes or clubs but like all non-profit organizations, they need the funding. This is why you have to pay $5 if you lose your library card & per page printed They also have a mobile book library that goes around the county. Our community should appreciate having such a great library. Houston County has 4 libraries total. One at Westgate, downtown Dothan, Montgomery hwy, and Ashford.

Its a comfortable public library with loads of books, CDs, DVDs and other educational and leisure resources. Free wifi makes it a convenient place for studying, videos, etc.
Apart from books & reading there are numerous clubs, activity groups, and other features for all ages. Try and you will get hooked.

When first started a sweet older lady helped me and it was wonderful for my children and me. Most of staff are nice but as time went on things started to change and it came more clearer there was racist treatment going on in sneaky way. I notice everytime I came there was always an over due balance where you can't check out until it's under 20 bucks. Now if I'm late which would be very rarely if ever I would never have it that high. It is a way for them to make money and prevent people of different nationalities from wanting to pay when there in right which in return don't check out books. It's amazing how this can happen to children who want to read. I would recommend getting check in print out everytime everywhere but at this location it's obvious they want only WHITES AT THIS LOCATION. My kids and I forgive them or whoever is doing this cause they will have to answer to God.

The library is huge but they do the kids shows during summer in a tiny room that only hold 50 kids, turning kids away crying. The staff is particularly rude with no empathy for small children. I will NOT be coming back.

Wonderful library very helpful staff, so glad they built this satellite library branched off the main library. Recently had to renew my passport and they were super helpful, reviewed my paperwork, took my picture to be included in packet ($12) and had a priority mail pouch for me to put it all in and address, all I had to do was seal it and take to the post office for mailing, it doesn’t get much easier than this!
