They are super corrupt. I had an appointment with the director, the staff at the counter said I had to reschedule because director was out. I took a seat and told them I refuse to leave an appointment I’ve been waiting for weeks and that I would remain there til closing. The director called me into their office not even 2 minutes later. A bunch of careless idiots dictating how our children’s education is going. Besides medical, education has now become a scam.

Would you like to transfer to another district? Why of course you do. This is a terrible district that will stall your inter-district application just to keep your child in their sad excuse for an educational environment. None of these "adults" should deciding where my child goes to school.

We show up at 3:25pm on a Friday and it was closed we didn't know they closed early on Fridays they should update they hours and let the community know.

Unfortunately, the start of the 4th grade school with Stege is not starting off with positivity. We're short staffed meaning we don't have a permanent 4th grade teacher among other grade levels that also don't have teachers. The front staff and principal are amazing and trying they're best to do right by our kids. But the school district doesn't care about educating or young brown and black students. Why be in this field or accept your position if your not going to help or try to make improvements? My child has been at stege since 2018 and it's actually gotten worse. The structure and the school itself needs repair. I don't want to move my child, but I may have no choice. This is Sad, because I went to Nystrom, Portola and Kennedy and we never experienced what our children our going through.

I honestly think that everyone on this district should be fired and replaced with competent staff. It seems like nobody cares, not the front end staff or their supervisors.
It's a good luck situation every time. They push parents to deal directly with schools, and schools have no authority on changing anything unless it is approved by the district.
I wonder why people are moving out of Richmond right when their kids start going to school

I can't say much about West Contra Costa Unified School District, but I remember I came here to take a writing assessment to prove my English proficiency. Out of 5, I scored a 5 for the topic I wrote along with what I learned before high school. Then when I went to enroll in Pinole Valley High, I got placed in ELD in a class where there's no agency of students to push boundaries nor care about what their next steps are after English Language Development or graduation. It explains most schools here, except for Aspire Richmond Cal Prep. Came out of that curriculum and using what they taught me in university. This entire school district needs to readjust and prove better teachers and better standards for kids, it's sad to see most schools lack the support and teachings for the youth to transition to advanced learning.

I made a call to resolve doubts, however the person who answered is impatient, with a notorious apathy, he does not allow you to ask questions freely. Evidence of their lack of availability to the community!

If your calling please don’t, I was calling back to back to speak to someone about home schooling. I wasn’t able to leave a voicemail but the mailbox is full.

This would be helpful if they answered phone calls instead of now making people appear in person to collect information with there children. I was trying to avoid being out in public with my kids.
