No one likes going to the DMV but I genuinely don’t mind coming here. I am so thankful they are open on a Saturday, any staff reading this thank you for working on the weekend so we have the ability to come in and not take off work!

Every staff member I’ve personally dealt with has always been super nice and respectful. I’ve even had quick chill conversations with some. I know DMVs get bad reps but this place (in my experience) is great. The security guard is always cool as well. Just listen to the instructions they give you, have your license ready when checking in and you’ll be in and out.

Also love their testing computers. All touch screen, plenty of terminals for everyone and they’re very easy to use. Also the bathrooms are great for a DMV facility, plenty of stalls and sinks. Even living in Joliet I’ll happily make the drive up here.

I arrived today at the West Chicago location after going to another location that showed it would be open today and it was closed! Upon arriving at 12:01, I was told that the place was closed! The time in line said the facility would be open until 12:30! There were several other people who arrived after me thinking it would be open until 12:30! Granted the hours on the door say open until 12:00 however, no one can see the door until they arrive. I traveled from Oswego. I suppose we are back to the old days where you just can trust what is online. My taxes at work!

This has got to be the friendliest most professional DMV in the State of Illinois. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The security guard was awesome. Even asked if I needed a water before my CDL driving test. The girl at the front desk gave me confidence in passing the cdl. Frank was my tester and he was fantastic. He got rid of my anxiety by knowing I was nervous and taking everything slow. He thoroughly understands what it takes to drive a truck and knows everything about one. I will travel the two hours again just to go to this DMV instead of Rockford that is right down the street. I rented a truck and it was right next door, I'm glad I did because they know what customer service is all about

Best DMV to get your CDL renewed! Come in the afternoon on Monday-Friday and it will only take 10 minutes for the entire process. No appointments needed. 5 stars.

Well, my experience with this office is that if you don't speak good English, you're finished. I always have problems renewing my CDL license. They are quite racist here and they discriminate against you because of your language. I don't think this place is that good. The Secretary of State itself has a form for complaints, but they don't pay attention to this.

New location is very spacious and well organized! In & out in 15-20 min for real ID.
For driving test is another story! At 10 AM goes fast, by 11 you wait for about 15 min and at 12 is becoming overwhelming for the understaffed facility. Staff gives wrong/ contradictory info which leads to additional waiting time.
During the written exam you are severely distracted by the cleaning crew !!
The cashier line is ridiculously slow- needs an extra window.. Post test doc picks is slow.
If you are stocked here two hours bring a snack !

Great service. Smaller place. I've never been here before and got tripped up because it says CDL everywhere, I was worried this was a CDL only facility but I did check the website prior to coming and it said they offer the service I was looking for. Nice people inside actually. Parking situation is a little confusing though.
