We all need a mentor!

I had Dr. Nixon as my consultant. I am a newbie teacher (baby, this is my first year). I didn't know how much I needed her until these sessions. She emphasized mental health as a teacher to better help the students and myself. Any question I had, she either had an answer to or found out through research. She helped with various things such as curriculum choices, lesson planning improvement, offering suggestions and gentle critiques to improve my teaching, as well as being a shoulder to cry on. I'm sorry that the contract has come to an end, but I enjoyed the short time that I spent with her. If I had the choice, I would chose to meet with her at least twice a week for the rest of my teaching career as a mentor because we all need somebody.
