As Western Springs' #1 rated house painter, we know a thing or two about good paint and excellent customer service. You can certainly find both here at the Village True Value hardware store in Western Springs. The paint department rep is absolutely fantastic. He is always ultra-helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable to boot!

Since we are on the topic of paint: they carry most Benjamin Moore Paint products and colors (super convenient for those looking for Benjamin Moore paints near Western Springs). Benjamin Moore's interior paint is great and their exterior paint isn't far behind in our book (Sherwin Williams Superpaint or Duration is still our go-to top exterior paint products).

Finally, in terms of deck stain: Woodmans brand is the go-to in terms of any solid stain or semi-solid you'd need to stain your deck if searching for a decent deck stain at this store. As a whole, Cabot has really fallen in quality after their recent acquisition and we will give Arborcoat by Benjamin Moore "mixed reviews" at best.

At first notice walking this place, you can tell this is a village favorite store. The place is full of customers and has Ing vibes. At every point during my shopping was assisted by a worker who is very knowledgeable in their section. I was able to get the nail that I needed, and was overall very happy with my experience here. Prices are fair I very much recommend shopping here over other hardware stores.

I've been going here for about 40 years, on my regular rotation of hardware stores of which there only 2.

I really appreciate that there's always someone to assist with some crazy me project.

It is terrific to go and buy 3 screws or a single wedge to fix a nuts thing that needs fixin.

Smells exactly how a hardware store should with a bunch of people that know their s$$t.

Fix windows, screens and pretty sure they offer a pick-up/repair service for small equipment....plan ahead.

I always treat myself to a Danish or Coffee Cake from Kirschbaums (next door) if I'm early enough.

This is the type of hardware store I remember visiting with Pop. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and will point you in the right direction. Just like I remember only in a different zip code. The shelves are stocked with the parts and items that you need for your project without the missing persons search and paperwork for staff to assist. Gosh I'm glad places like this still exist. Price points will only get you in the door elsewhere but the service and knowhow will bring you back to Village True Value hardware.

Such wonderful service. They do knife sharpening! Don’t have to wait for the guy to randomly be on your street once a year. Still use him, also… but come here in between!

The employees at this True Value store are truly professionals, not just mere employees filling a role. They are knowledgeable and always helpful, even when you're just spending a few bucks. I make a conscious effort to make the majority of my household repair and garden purchases at their store. Thanks for all you do!

Awful experience with snow thrower repair. I brought the unit in for repair and the guy working the seasonal desk indicated it might cost $100 to fix so I should just buy a new one. I declined and asked him to get an estimate on repairs. A few days later I get a call back indicating the starter is bad, which I knew, along with a whole host of other things and it'd cost $400 to repair and again they suggest I get a new one. I call back and ask how much to replace the electric starter - $225 for just the part plus labor. She gives me the part number and I find it online for $60. I say no thanks and they tell me to come pick it up the following Monday. I get a VM indicating it's ready for pickup on Monday and that there's no charge but I have to pick it up within 3 days or there will be a charge. So I go pick it up and I'm informed I owe $35 for the estimate which was never mentioned neither at the time of dropoff nor subsequent conversations and voicemails.

This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any place of business let alone this store. I'd highly recommend going elsewhere.

FRUSTRATING customer service for getting a repair done. I took my toro mower in for repair and they said couldn't confirm that my mower was registered and told me to call toro to confirm it, I called toro and they said to contact a service dealer and that they would have the information. I called prior to me bringing the mower in and did everything told me to do including bringing in the receipt. told me they could only help me if I bought the mower from them. Even though they are a Toro service dealer they do not want to help unless you purchased it from them. Called the next closest service dealer (J-Tel service in Worth) and they said they will check to see if it is registered and if not they will register it.
