Life-Saving Care & Compassionate Team!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham! A couple of weeks ago, my cat became seriously ill, and I was absolutely terrified. From the moment we walked through their doors, the entire team was incredibly kind, professional, and thorough.
The veterinarians and staff took the time to explain everything to me, answer all my questions, and most importantly, provide the expert care that saved my cat’s life. Thanks to their dedication and skill, she has made an amazing recovery, and I am beyond grateful.
A huge thank you to Dr. Thomas, Dr. Hoff, Daniel, Mason, and Kerry for their incredible care, compassion, and support throughout this journey. You all made such a difference, not just for my cat, but for me as well.
If you are looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy emergency veterinary team in Birmingham, I highly recommend the Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham. They truly go above and beyond for their patients and pet parents!

Best visit ever. They are so remarkable and caring. My sweet FurLow was so comfortable with everything they did. Dr Lock and staff especially Erica went over and beyond for us. They treated us with love and kindness and when you have a sick little puppy it can be an extremely emotional time. We are grateful and truly blessed by the way they treated FurLow Friday like he was their own. FurLow is my heart and i trust VSB with my most precious heart. Thank you for getting to know the sweet FurLow we know. He so totally approves of VSB. You guys are fabulous....

I would highly recommend this clinic. While our dog didn’t have the greatest outcome, this team provided the greatest care. They were very quick and so sweet. It was a hard decision to make, but they made the euthanasia process a little bit easier. They do such a great job at thoroughly explaining their services and are very respectful to allow you time to make decisions. So thankful for everything you guys did for us today.

This place is beyond amazing! They were so unbelievably kind to me and my cat, Gus, when we came in for a potential intestinal blockage at 3 am. They took great care of him and were super kind and reassuring to me. He came home safe and sound and was completely well taken care of while inpatient here. They treated him so kindly and were amazing! Thank you VSB!

I came in at 3:30 AM. My dog had a collapsed trachea and was struggling badly to breathe. They took him back immediately, ran X-rays and gave him medications that saved his life. Two hours later he was calm and breathing normally again. They were very upfront with me about the costs of all testing and let me give the okay on cost before they ran the tests and X-rays. The facility was very clean and neat and the staff was wonderful. I am so grateful for what the did for my baby dog!

5 stars are NOT enough. This establishment needs a 10 star rating. Dr. Moser & the staff at VSB are the best. Our fur baby had to have a leg surgery & the staff here are extremely compassionate, caring & sweet. They kept us with updates with our baby girls surgery. Nurse Katie is the best. Love her. I want to give a huge shout out to everyone there from the front desk receptionist (i can’t remember her name) but everyone was so good, i cannot thank them enough. Our fur baby is home, managing pain well & recovering. Thanks so much VSB.

Very grateful to Dr. Thomas, Dr. Hood, Stephanie, the very kind lady that worked at the front desk in the morning and at night and the rest of the team that I did not meet in person this past weekend for saving my fur baby’s life, being so kind and reassuring.
I hope you’ll never have to be in the situation I was in but in the unfortunate event that you are I would HIGHLY recommend this place.
The hospital is very clean, staff very professional and were very very prompt with treatment. They even let me visit with my baby before he went in for surgery. They showered him with so much affection and had great attention to detail when he was recovering after surgery. I could tell my baby trusted them and was very comfortable with them during his recovery process.

Wow!! Just wow!!! My 10 week old puppy fell and broke his leg. From start to finish, the staff was sooooooooo helpful. Dr. Hough the ER physician explained everything to my husband and I. The receptionists were calming and supportive, offering coffee and water. Dr. Vaughn explained the procedure in a way that I understood every detail. Casey the ICU supervisor explained the post op education perfectly!! I would like to thank everyone staff member I came in contact with (please forgive me for not remembering your names)!! 10 out 10 experience!! Thank you for caring for my Rolo as if he was your own doggy!
