Worst tutor service. One tutor never showed up but I was charged anyways. I tried to contact varsity tutor several times and they told me that they will take care of it. If you don’t want to deal with bad tutors, spend hours on the phone to contact varsity tutor ( who won’t solve problems) and if you don’t want to let your credits get taken away after 3 month , STAY far away from this company,

I dropped around 700$ on GRE prep, just for 8 hours of tutoring. Was a pretty big mistake. I had to switch tutors twice since I felt they lacked understanding of the GRE material, and all would have pretty unprofessional attitudes, like a noisy background, laying back on their seats, inattentive, etc. i was disappointed.

Negative stars. Avoid wasting your valuable time and money with this tutoring company. They operate aggressively like salesmen, charging a steep $300 for just four one-hour sessions. Despite their promises and success rate claims, their website and resources lack substance. I paid upfront for four sessions but only received three; the fourth was rescheduled and then essentially lost when I decided not to continue with their service for another $300 the following month. When I called to request the session I had paid for, Tau (Manager’s name is Kendra), the Account manager, dismissively referred me to their terms and conditions without offering a satisfactory resolution. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for tutoring services. There are plenty of better-priced options with more advanced technology available. With this dishonest system, they will not be around much longer. Good riddance.

This service is a scam. They are only interested in charging you a monthly fee. If you use the service, make sure you keep them on tight leash or they will charge you indefinitely even when you are not using the service. The tutors are OK.

Reply - You can't locate me I was on the phone with your "Client Experience Team" earlier today canceling the service, and you have my name, I am the person you have been charging every month. I am just letting people know this is a subscription service scam, at some point they will be sold on a monthly subscription and people need to be disciplined about canceling or your company will just keep charging even knowing that testing has concluded and your service is not being used. And, people need to be stern about canceling as your company will still try to sell them a less expensive monthly subscription. Spend more time on education, customer service and less time on sales. It is like dealing with a gym membership or timeshare salesperson.

But no matter how hard l’ve tried - this company is a complete failure!
The reviews are actually very much the truth and the reality to all the frustration of those poor people(customers), and l am another one, just like them.
Varsity Tutors aka Charles Cohn are just that bad news, nasty disease keeps coming back! The marketing plan they set up, must be matching this guy’s personality. It’s like a psychopath ex boyfriend that keeps stalking you!

Teachers are great. Billing method is terrible. They don't sell single classes, which would be quite reasonable. We purchased the 4 class package, 4 class hours. We let you know from the beginning that we didn't want to continue with the classes. Even so, they took our card details and enrolled us in a continuous billing program. As I already suspected, the next month, they tried to charge us again - FOR CLASSES THAT WE DIDN'T EVEN SCHEDULE WITH ANY TEACHER. What they didn't know is that I have a prevention system against this type of attitude, I provided a FULLY CANCELLABLE credit card, so AFTER PAYING THE 1st 4 CLASSES, I canceled the card. Varsity keeps sending me billing emails. According to them, I can only cancel after updating my credit card number, that is, paying for a new package that I didn't even schedule classes with. That's why I'm here warning everyone, use a disposable credit card with Varsity to trade.

Updated: After a while... they called me, and I explained my situation, and they agreed to cancel incorrect credit card charging. Thank you.

My son has had a great experience working with Varsity Tutors! His tutor really took the time to connect with him personally during their first session. Learning about his interests and mentioning them throughout the sessions has lead to better engagement with my son. He is getting way more out of their time together as a result. We are very impressed not only with his tutor but with Varsity Tutors as a whole. Thanks!

His tutor really took the time to learn his interests and she uses that to engage him. She integrates the things he already loves into every session! I couldn't be happier with his progress!
