Great views! Was here for a piano recital and had fun. Lots of parking. Did not attend services here, but from the messaging around the atrium it sounds like they are very inclusive.

My husband and I had our wedding here, I can not say enough good things about this church and would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone. This brief review will not do it justice but in some words:

Their faith director, Heaven, was our officiant and she absolutely knocked it out of the park! High charisma, thoughtful, kind, funny at the right moments. I have a lot of respect for this person. I had countless guests comment about how beautiful the ceremony was, and it was her design.

Janae, their event coordinator, was very helpful and responsive throughout the process of scheduling/planning the wedding. Very hardworking and just on it.

The venue is stunning, views of the entire bay area, cool architecture and the sanctuary is just incredible.

Best UU Church in Bay Area with full, professional staff, phenominal minister, light food and coffee, stunning view. Kids program is also well attended and staffed, since minister has prior experience with Religious Education Directing as well. Amazing experience every time. Very strong, large choir. Serious, monumental organ and sanctuary. Great, smart, nice, friendly people with interesting things to say.

Last Sunday I visited this church. I used to be a member. It is beautifully situated on the top of a hill in El Cerrito. A bit of the property has been taken over by independent pre-schools which provide rent to the church and which now constitutes a substantial source of income for the church (as per their annual budget).
Unfortunately, the church is highly politicized. For example, a banner over the entrance reads "Black Lives Matter," rather than a religious or spiritual quotation. (Having legally adopted a Hispanic son from the Dominican Republic, I have made some investment in minority progress, and agree that Black lives matter.) What has slowly eroded, at the church in the last 20 years, is a deep, authentic spiritual discipline expected to be practiced by its members. Contrast, for example, the slowly shrinking footprint of this church to the expanding Spirit Rock retreat center where people sit in silence for hours. My evaluation here is just my possibly erroneous observation.
