Una Vida is a kind, generous and giving organization that helps provide food to food-insecure families. It is run entirely by volunteers, who sort vegetables, fruits, and lots of staples so that during distribution families can come and pick-up lots of healthy and nutritious food. Diapers are usually also available. I have volunteered with Una Vida for many years and know, that all are welcome. If you can help volunteer, please come by on the first or third Tuesday of the month between 10am - 6pm for as many hours as you'd like to help.

Una Vida has completely changed my life! I first got involved my senior year of high school. I went on an educational trip to the Dominican Republic with my peers through Una Vida. The trip opened up my perspective in so many ways. I ended up taking a gap year after high school and moving to the DR. I got to live with a host family and work in one of the local schools. At this point I have had two long-term stays in the DR and go back to visit as often as I can. I learned so much about life, about myself, and about our global community while living in the DR. I am so grateful for my time there and for the support from Una Vida.

My students and I have benefitted from the generosity of Una Vida several times. They love the snacks they can get from me between classes, donated by Una Vida. Additionally, Una Vida provides so many opportunities for my students to volunteer and to learn about how good it feels to give back to our community. (My students benefit not just from an opportunity to complete required community service hours, but they also benefit from the positive experience.)

Una Vida is an outstanding organization that impacts hundreds of families throughout Sonoma county every year. They build community, share resources and tirelessly serve others. The biggest way they do this is by providing thousands of lbs of food to food insecure families each year. Una Vida is all volunteer run by some of the most amazing people I have ever met. They work their hardest to meet all needs from the biggest to the smallest with love, dignity and compassion.

Una Vida is such a blessing to the Petaluma (and beyond) community. From bi-monthly food distributions, and clothing drives - the Una Vida team works tirelessly everyday to ensure that help & hope is available to those who need it. The Una Vida team strives to provide quality items- from fresh produce & meat to pet food & diapers. Not only do they provide these essentials to our community, but they offer a multitude of ways to get involved & give back. From high school students to retirees, the volunteers of Una Vida range in age, demographic, and abilities. There is room at Una Vida for everyone.

I have been a volunteer at Una Vida for close to a year and it has been amazing to work with people who give so much of their time. I come from a family of 9 and remember my parents having to depend on a place such as Una Vida and now I am able to give back and help others as it was offered to me and my family. All the volunteers are amazing and out in such long hours but never complain and always have smiles on their faces and greet all the people who come.there for food as if they were family best part of this whole thing. We have used Una Vida for multiple food give aways and they have helped our family get cribs, Christmas trees, and whatever else we need. We have a wonderful community that loves helping Una Vida and just recently my husband and I have started picking up and delivering stuff for Una Vida, since we both have a hard time standing for long time I didn’t think there was anything we could do to volunteer but I was wrong. It’s is such a great feeling being a part of this organization and community to help give back. Lynne and all of her volunteers are very welcoming and friendly without judgement to anyone, also always willing to help.
