UMA has been such a positive experience for me. From registration to Financial Aid to Learner Services to Academic Services to Virtual Library Assistance I have had great support. At 64 and going to an online platform for learning, and have not been to school since graduating from High School, I am totally amazed that since registering and starting classes in July 2024, studying for an Associates degree in Medical Billing and Coding, I just got a Certificate that I am on the Deans List! Never thought this would happen but am so incredibly thankful!

Going on my second half of my associates degree and couldn’t be happier with my choice by far most caring staff I’ve ever met! Never mind what’s photos are here, I’ve also received a super cute pink UMA hat for referring a friend and we all get a SUPER NICE HP Laptop to do our work, usually around the fourth week.!!

Being 50 years old and going back to school is not an easy decision. But after watching my daughter Graduate and succeed in this same program, I decided to do some research. They have been so friendly and helpful making sure the program is a good fit. It is turning into an awesome experience and couldn't be happier or more excited. I am a current student at UMA and I was enjoying my classes and very happy with the school until recently. My son became sick and I requested a leave of absence for the semester. Every time that I called they tried to talk me out of it and told me to take a few days to think about it. By the time someone took me seriously the semester was almost over. Then they approved my LOA, only to change their mind and deny it the next day. I ended up failing that semester and ruining my 4.0 GPA. Now I am getting calls and emails from financial aid saying that there are forms missing that I have filled out several times since June and that if I don't send it they are going to drop my financial aid. At this point I am ready to withdrawal and go to another school. My student advisor Brian has been amazing and all of this happened while he was gone and he has been trying to help but I'm not sure I want to stay anymore.

Now at first there is ALOT of phone calls from UMA but once you become an official student and pass the academic probation period (SAP) then the phone calls don't occur hardly. I believe I got as many phone calls as I did was because UMA actually cares about you and they want to make sure you are college ready! I have received 2 financial aid refunds/student loans in a check form so far, and I am a straight A student. Medical Billing and Coding student. I started April 29, 2024. It's a great school and the negative reviews that I have read did scare me but believe me some of them are dead wrong except the phone call parts. Good school, caring teachers, legit.

Going back to school at UMA was absolutely my best decision for my future. Six years ago I never would have imagined getting to where I am at now, I struggled with a lot of daily life things many other student struggled with. But UMA was there EVERY step of the way. From enrollment to checking in on me, to congratulating me many times over for getting on the Dean's list. UMA is the greatest school filled with the greatest staff out there that are there to help and encourage you to make it. And I DID IT!! I completed school and walked the stage in Tampa, an unforgettable experience I could have never dreamed of. The cheering and support from the staff was so loud and encouraging. I thought the roof would collapse, the cheering and congratulations around every corner makes you realize you did it!! UMA is always there for you and wants to see you succeed just as bad as you want to see yourself succeed. You can do it!! Don't ever give up!

I started at UMA in August 2023. Instructors and staff is really nice and very helpful on everything. I will be graduating in 89 days in 2025. For any future UMA Students, I would like to say go luck on your journey.
