Where else can you attend a concert in a gallery - and talk directly with the exhibiting artist? This super rare opportunity happens often here at the TLCA. My wife and I visited one night for a concert, later became members and have even volunteered for events.

Exhibit curation is really great. Somehow they really bring in a variety of mediums and topics that stretch you from showing to showing. Artists are never too far out of reach for you - even if you just walk in at a random time or day. The staff is only happy to share the stories behind the work and even connect your ti the artists if you want.

The concerts are really great way to intimately see some of the best artists. The back row is still closer than you’ll ever be in some of the bigger venues and everyone sounds great - the sound guy knows what he’s doing.

I don’t have many google reviews - but really felt this place deserves one.

I love the Tri Lakes Center for the Arts! My band plays there regularly! Dr. Maddox and his team are top notch! The atmosphere is friendly and professional. The audiences are the best! They come ready to listen, dance, sing and clap along. I’ve played big venues and small venues. Tri Lakes is just right! You really need to see an exhibit and a concert ASAP at Tri Lakes Center for the Arts.

We've come to several concerts there and they were great. It's so rare to be front row without spending a fortune.
Everyone there is very nice. It's cool to have something to do while waiting for the show to start and during the intermission, such as look at beautiful art work.
Once we had a nice something to eat there but not this time. Free bagged munchies were a nice little surprise, though.

I had the misfortune of interacting with the Director of the Tri-Lakes Performing Arts Center. I found his behavior to be appalling. He was unprofessional, demeaning, refused to accept any sort of responsibility, and he was dishonest on multiple occasions. My husband and I are stunned and hurt by the way he treated us. We purchased tickets for an event that was rescheduled because of bad weather, we were disappointed but understanding. Then it was rescheduled again because of COVID (we weren't notified at all, all other venues where we purchased tickets, notified us immediately by email, but I managed to find the information on the website). Again, we understood. According to the Tri-Lakes Performing Arts Center's own website, the event was rescheduled for September. We were making plans for September and I wanted to ensure the concert was still happening. So I reached out with a quick but polite facebook message. The response I received was excessive at best. Basically, it read like a how dare you bother me with such a question, we're manned by volunteers and you're asking them to jeopardize their lives for a concert. Then, the author of the message informed me that the concert was proposed indefinitely as a new date hadn't been set. So, I asked for a refund and pointed out that I was simply relying on information contained on the website. I received a nasty response that it wasn't necessary to put that type of information on their website. I informed the author that I thought his or her behavior was rude and asked to speak with the supervisor. Then I was informed that I was talking to the Director and that he was a "Doctor," and that he had to let his staff go (I thought they were all volunteers-I bet he still gets a salary). He told me he would call me but he wouldn't tell me when, so I could make myself available. The next day at 5:00 pm, I received a message asking for my number, before I had a chance to respond, I received two more message, one thanked me for my "magnificent support" and the other said the concert had been rescheduled for 4 March (I find that odd since the day before he didn't have a date) and he basically said too bad because he was processing my refund. Then, he blocked me on messenger before I could respond with my number. My husband called him and left a message and his call was never returned. A week later and I have not received any type of a refund on my card or a check, although he doesn't have our address (thankfully), so I don't expect a check. Ideally, we would like to receive a refund and never have to interact with Tri-Lakes Performing Art Center again. I also hope that that my experience serves as a warning to others. In this tight economy, where every dollar counts, there are far more professional and deserving non-profits that appreciate their patrons and treat them decently. Please, utilize your money toward their benefit and not Tri-Lakes Performing Arts Center.

Exhibiting at the TLCA has always been a great experience. They draw a consistent, loyal group of patrons to their events. Debbie is a very creative curator, always with an attention to detail. Michael Madox, the ED, is very professional and easy to work with. He has great rep-our with the people he interacts with. It’s a very classy venue.

While the concerts are nice, there are numerous reports of unpaid artists in town.

I was at a city council meeting the other night where the owner argued that they were a 501c3. The city denied the status on the basis that they are not registered as one.

I learned further they are using the center as a place to live when concerts arent going on. Sounds kind of messed up - not sure it is wise to support going here until their act is cleaned up.

This is truly a gem. I’ve attended special events and art openings. I enjoyed it so much that I became a member to support the venue in hopes it could survive the tough times of COVID. And it did! The management did a fabulous job rehabbing the facility and reimagining the space to change from “old ways” and offer “new ways” of exploring art and music. I always look forward to the next concert I can attend or gallery exhibit (mostly local artists which I appreciate). Thanks so much to the Executive Director and Board for making the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts a place to stop and share as a community!

As an artist this is a fabulous venue to display and in the past have had some wonderful shows for photography and other artistic mediums. However, I cannot recommend this venue regarding payment to artists, often takes months to receive payment for sold items, and I (and another photographer) have also have not been reimbursed (a year ago) for a deposit I made for a show that I withdrew from in the specified time constraints. Honesty and ethics are important to me, therefore I cannot recommend Tri-Lakes Center For The Arts.

Update-June 5, 2021

21 months have passed and still no reimbursement for a payment made in September 2019. The other artist, involved and mentioned by the response below, contacted me yesterday asking if I’d been paid yet, no, I told her. However, the TLCA facility has been remodeled during a pandemic, therefore have the funds to pay both of us what is owed.

December 2022...Three years later....no refund, and hearing of others not recieving payment by this "non profit."

March 2023, no payment. You know you are untruthful about this, two of the people (a couple from Denver) who were going to be in the show with me, got their money back after threatening you with a small claims court, and the other artist, sent me an email on June 4, 2021 asking if I had gotten my money back....I have proof in my emails. Also, I sold a piece in September 2019, I finally recieved payment for that on Jan. 3, 2020, right before the pandemic. The show would not have happened anyway, but you all simply kept the deposits of two artists both women. I also contacted one of your board members, she completely ignored me.

I removed the email proof. But have saved them all. My biggest issue with TLlCA is dishonesty and taking advantage of artists. Sad.

Update March 2024-still no refund or admission of dishonesty!
