This is a review of the district office. I see reviews for schools in the district, those should be posted at said school. There is a chain of command and those issues mentioned (for the most part) are problems with school staff.

Now as for the district office. The staff are friendly. They return calls and emails promptly. And are excellent about answering any questions. Compared to other districts I’ve worked with this one is pretty great.

Colorado is failing our children. Disappointed to live here. Lucky to homeschool and never have children in this sorry excuse for a place of education and learning. Brain washing isn’t teaching.

My son is a student at Winona Elementary School. He's in the fourth grade. He is visually impaired, and on an IEP. He is being subjected to repeated discrimination based on his disability in his classroom and the teachers have not reported the individuals who call him a retard, or tell him he should just go home because he can't do the work. Twice in less than six months he's been physically assaulted. He was put into a choke hold by another student unprovoked, nearly losing conciseness. There was no documenting of the physical injuries he sustained, and not once was I contacted about my son being assaulted. The student was suspended for three days for commuting what is by law, a felony. No corrective steps were taken to ensure my son's safety, and the aggressor was allowed to return to the same Flood Room as my son, where he continued to threaten, harass, and intimate my son. February 14, 2017, he was assaulted again by the same student, but, the school opted to go with the, 'we didn't see it happen,' excuse instead of following district policy regarding repeated aggressive behavior. Considering the severity of the choking incident, the district's policy for mandatory expulsion should have been mentioned, but, instead, they ignored the fact this child is a threat. Both the student and school facility are directly responsible for creating a hostile environment where my son is clearly not safe. Something must be done before this kid seriously harms someone. It is clear from the lack of district response to my calls that neither school staff, or district employees are concerned in any way with the safety of our children! Irony is the propagandizing levels of, 'Zero Tolerance,' the school's preach, while turning blind eye's to violence, and opting for the lowest possible consequences when disciplining violent, repeated assaults, and bullying. Prevention may start with teachers, but, when oversight and regulatory accountability are neglected at the district level, there is no accountability for staff in our schools. There are at least three lawsuit against Winona Elementary, and several more across the district directly related to the district's lack of action regarding the safety of our children and the prevention of bullying and violence in our school's. All of those responsible for ensuring our children are safe at school should be ashamed of themselves! Our tax money pays your mortgage and buys you those nice suits. The least you can do is your job, and keep our children safe. Bullying is a serious problem, and I will not tolerate my son being attacked. I cannot in good conscience remain quiet. It's time we as parents and the folks paying for the salaries of district employees, stand up. God forbid we lose another child in Loveland to suicide from being bullied! Smh

Lucille Irwin Middle School's policy of dealing with bullies...they don't. They routinely punish victims. A student who physically has attacked, intimidated, verbally abused students on a daily basis and has done so for 2 years has never been expelled. Her victims go to detention for speaking back to her. The bully has no consequences. One of the attacks was actually videoed and was disgusting, it was viewed by school personnel and the victim got the same treatment and the perpetrator. This bully then went on to slam a student into lockers which was totally ignored , Attacked another student at a dance ripping his coat and stalking him after the dance as he tried to exit the school, she was physically about to attack him until another student stepped in. Students were also in another unrelated incident attacked at a wrestling match at another school by studdnts from that school. Where were these teachers to keep your children safe. where are they and why don't they delve into the whole problem when a bullying incident occurs. I do not recommend you sending your children to Lucille or one middle school they are unsafe there.

For over a decade I have participated in numerous community and volunteer activities with the Thompson School District. This is a great facility for public and group meetings when the appropriate size rooms are available. The work that is accomplished here on behalf of the students and community is exceptional.

What happened at Loveland High is absolutely unacceptable I am thankful nothing transpired the school district needs to give parents answers and not send out a ridiculous e mail that doesn’t even state what happened like they could lie and other parents from other schools wouldn’t find out some transparency would be nice I have left e mails and voicemails still haven’t heard how they r going to make this right and make me feel secure sending my children to school
