Quaint old library in Wheaton with a rich history. I was fascinated to hear about the theosophical society and it's beliefs.
The library building is more than a 100 year old and it has many books and periodicals.
It is not a typical library where you can sit and read for hours.
There is a huge park and walking grounds all around the building where they have nature walks and other events.

Beautiful grounds and buildings to visit. 42 acres of land, includes, fountains, labyrinth, bookstore, flower gardens. Parking is free in front on main entrance or in the back lot by the bookstore entrance. They host many classes to the public in the building including yoga, meditation and various workshops. It's free and open to the public. Our art league visited and were able to sit outside and choose an area to paint, draw or sketch the surroundings. The building has bathrooms and has a beautiful architecture. A hidden gem for a quick visit.

It's a blessing to live in the same area as the Theosophical society.
The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The labyrinth is free to walk and a fantastic centering tool.
I haven't even mentioned the tons of classes and lectures that are informative and impossible to find anywhere else.
Oh, and they have a fantastic bookstore!

I had a wonderful visit to the Theosophical Society in America. After watching so many of their videos on Youtube it was very fulfilling to finally enjoy the grounds, visit the library, and watch a presentation in the auditorium. I so enjoyed the kind people I met and the positive intent I found throughout this visit. I'll definitely be back!

Fascinating place! I came into the study of Theosophy by reading books by authors inspired by its ideas. This place is a hidden gem here in Illinois. I would recommend it for spiritual seekers. I love how they try to bridge the East/West divide in religion. I think that is a pressing issue that leaves many thinking people with questions and a desire to bridge the gap.

First time at the book store and I loved it! Beautiful crystals & gem stones, candles, books, statues to name a few. Relaxing aroma all around make it a very pleasant shopping experience. Customer service was fantastic.

Peaceful, lovely grounds. Beautiful1920s building with a traditional, old world feel. Wonderful events, library and friendly people. Memorable.
Highly recommend the Thursday night lecture series in their serene third floor lecture hall. Recently, they added an elevator for easier access. During covid the Thursday night lectures are live webcasts. The first time I ever attended was to hear British scientist Rupert Sheldrake known for his theory of morphic resonance. Many interesting authors and people have lectured here over the years. If you arrive early stop at the Quest book and gift store before your event, for books, jewelry, incense, cards and gemstones.
