I thought tithes or donations were optional. I didn't know I'd get dirty looks for not giving the church money. The church, not the God I came to worship.

I've never seen a place turn away people the way they do. Twice they've said no to helping. One time was when my son who is now 18 and moved out, they told him they couldn't help him because they thought he still lived with me. They wouldn't listen to him telling them he doesn't live at my house. The second time was when I went in on may 23, then on June 11. They said it has to be every 30 days, not once a month. My food stamp recertification hasn't gone thru its still on a waiting list, so I don't know what to do except rely on food banks. And this one turns people away like that? Its not like I'm trying to scam anyone, my husband and I both work, bills and groceries are crazy tho. It was just really disappointing to have a place do that when we genuinely need the help.

I'm a veteran in need of utility assistance. I called and rhe lady said I can come pick up and application. When I arrived at the location on Prairie I rang the door bell no one answered. I called again she came to the door with a single application in hee hand reaching out to pass ot too me. I felt like this was so rude. She didn't make any eye contact with me at all. She turned around and walked back intonthe building.
When a person is in need a rude person who seems to have it all ,is very discouraging. I am african American and it seems like this community is only willing to help those of the Latino decent. As a disabled veteran this is very distressing. Someone needs to teach this office customer service.

I had to go back 3 times to get my kids presents. While I am grateful for the presents, I spent more in gas money (125 miles total) going back and forth since they failed to communicate the delays until I was already there. My 3yo was gifted 12mo sized clothes (sizes were specified 4t) and infant toys. Its now 2 days before Christmas and I have to scramble to find gifts for my 3yo.
