Amazing hotel! I loved everything about it. Everything was mostly convenient and I loved the concept of the separate buildings, it gave it a very cozy, resort feel, and the layout of everything seemed well-thought out. The on-property food service was amazing, including the coffee shop, poolside restaurant, poolside bar, and the luxury restaurant. The design style was beachy and a little bit rustic, which gave it a nice, cozy feel. All of the staff were really nice and the service was great in general. Had a gift shop in the lobby with anything you might want or need, and a boutique with souvenirs and products by the pool. The location of it was great and though it was a little bit of a drive from downtown, overall it felt cozy being in the state park, and it was right by a beach which was really nice, and right across the street from the woodsy side of the state park, with beautiful trails. The pool was great with free towels, a poolside tiki bar, and it has an infinity pool feel, due to the water nice effect of the water falling into a waterfall on the edge. Also had a private business lodge with conference areas, and separate rooms for the people on business trips, and all of this was a separate building from the rest of the hotel rooms. It was overall a great experience with amazing service, delicious food items, and nice views and cozy vibe. I would definitely stay here again!

My husband and my children arrived at the hotel on a Thursday afternoon we only intended to stay 2 nights, but the lady at the front said if we wanted to stay a 3rd night ( since we were contemplating the price ) she would try to get it cheaper and of course we said yes. Price was 800ish with 50$ a night fee for any room damage that would be returned to us if no damage was done. We were perfectly fine with that 950 ish since 150 was refundable. We enjoyed some drinks at the bar and put it on our room. 130$. The day before we check out we are locked out of our room for needing to reauthorize our cards. We go to the front desk and I’m told we need to pay 168$ that we already used our 150$ damage fees that literally had me charging 330$ to my room and i didn’t i have the receipts. I explained to the lady at the front i would gladly pay the 168$ but i wanted an itemized receipt and i explained to her what i was told at check in. TURNS OUT. lady at check in flat out lied to me and never charged me the 50$ a day refundable fee she just lied and said that my room was cheaper and that the rest was the fee that would be refunded if no damages to the room. No one mentioned there is a 30$ a day fee for the room. So the room is not only 285 a night but it’s technically 313$ (crazy! It wasn’t that good of a room and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable) not to mention the parking arrangements. For three nights they got 1000 out of me when it was only supposed to be a 800$ stay. I will NEVER BE BACK. this was completely crazy to lock someone out of their room without so much as a phone call to explain to us what was going on. Highly disappointed with this stay.

I've been to a lot of hotels and I am marking this as one of my favorites! The location of the hotel right on the Gulf is fantastic! The views were awesome! The room was perfect and the service was excellent. We had a room with a balcony and sitting outside in the morning with a cup of coffee was so relaxing! The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable! There are multiple sitting areas on each floor with balcony access. The pool was fantastic, but too cold to get into in February! I can't wait to go back in the summer to access the ice cream shop and pool bar. They have several restaurants on site and the food was excellent. The Lodge has access across the highway to Gulf Shores State Park and there are 28 miles of riding paths. They have valet or self parking available. Overall, a wonderful hotel!

This place was amazing, it made our first experience at the Gulf that much more memorable. Rooms were just big enough, the hotel itself had everything you would need on hand. Great location, quieter beach than in town. If I had one negative, it would be that the daily cleaning of our room was not great. In our 5 days there I think we got the room swept out once. Not a big deal though

Clean hotel, people are very friendly. I feel like this place was overpriced, you have to pay for every little thing, $3 per bottle of water you use in your room, valet, breakfast AND the umbrellas/chair on the beach start at $45 just for the day. The valet is somewhat expensive if you want to include it in your trip but those guys do a good job. The breakfast I feel should be free at least, especially when you’re charging $22 per plate and then TWO different delivery charges. My husband and I both ordered breakfast our last day because why not, was shocked at our $80+ bill we received considering the drinks were supposed to be included in the option we chose but instead got charged $10 for 2 small cups of milk and $10 for 2 small cups of apple juice, they add a $6 delivery charge on top of in room delivery fee of $14.50. $20 in just delivery fees when the food comes from the damn hotel is outrageous. Also for the price of the breakfast you would think they’d give a bit more of a portion size.

Everything was fine but the lack of transportation to the airport ruined the whole trip. You would think the hotel having hosted people for a large music festival for nearly a decade would realize the need for an airport shuttle. Uber is non existent, cabs are unreliable or un available. Good luck catching any flights on time unless you start calling cab companies and begging for rides 6 hours before your flight and even then good luck! . I had a ride booked on Saturday for Monday morning and it cancelled on me after my scheduled pick up causing me to miss my flight and forcing me into a 12 hour drive to make work because Pensacola Airport said all the flights were full til Thursday. The cab that finally did pick me up was money grabbing and charged me which I happily paid when I thought I would be on time but they then made stops for two more people which unfortunately made me just miss my flight. Rating would be five stars if they had some form of shuttle even once early in the morning and once after lunch would have saved hundreds of guests a headache.

We had mixed feelings about the Lodge. When we arrived we were told the snow storm knocked out the heat. They said they sent out a text and email but we or the other couple we were with did not receive any type of notice. The staff was friendly and helpful and offered no fees to cancel but we were there for a race the next morning and it was too late to find anything new.
We traveled with kids so booked a room with bunk beds. This might be dumb but it was slightly annoying that the bunks were only half made. Part of vacation is not having to spend time making two beds.
Lastly, the parking is very far away from the hotel. Luckily we had nice weather but if there is any rain you'd be forced to use valet or get soaked.
There was good though! The hotel was nice and very clean. Our room was nice and had great views. And finally, the staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate people with the unusual no heat situation.
