Ms. Ahma & her family provide loving and educational childcare. My daughter has been going to The Learning Forest since she was 1 years old and she is now 4.5. We started with them in Oakland and the quality is unmatched so when they moved to Concord we followed.

The peace of mind is truly priceless knowing that my daughter is safe, happy, well-fed, playing, learning, and connecting with nature every day! Ms. Ahma is a talented educator with her diverse experience and roles as a former public school teacher and a mother make her amazing at creating a learning environment. The program is thoughtfully created in a way that really balances academic, social, and emotional aspects of early childcare in a nurturing home.

Ms. Ahma and her family are creating a loving environment from their hearts. They care, feed and teach these children like their own and it shows. A lot of time outside, group learning, reading circles, fun activities, special visitor days, gardening + harvesting, outdoor time with chickens, songs and dance, and for the older class exploring technology with online class time. Ms. Ahma prepares all the snacks and meals at home with fresh ingredients including organic homegrown fruits, vegetables and eggs from their backyard.

So many life lessons and beautiful memories! We are loving our time here before she's off to Kindergarten next Fall.

Our son started here at 10 months old and we’ve had a great experience the whole time. Compassionate and capable staff, beautiful property with learning incorporated into fun activities. (They garden and have chickens and teach the kids about all of that).
This is definitely a “school” as opposed to a “daycare.” Our son learns so much and the environment really focuses on learning for all the age groups.
He will be two soon and we’re excited for him to stay here with the friends he’s made. Would highly recommended to anyone looking for wholistic, family-oriented childcare.

Our daughter started at TLFA when she was 2. She was super shy (pandemic baby) and only spoke Spanish and Ahma and her team have been wonderful with her. They were patient and encouraging, they even used the bit of Spanish they knew to communicate with her. Our daughter now really enjoys her time there, talks about her teachers and friends, sings lots of songs and comes home with lots of new phrases in English. She eats healthy foods, stays active, and is learning new things on a daily basis. We are so happy to have her in a place where we know she’s well cared for and loved.

We just adore this school! Our little girl has been attending The Learning Forest since May 2020 and transitioning our daughter into a new daycare/preschool during Covid was not an easy decision to make. Owner and director, Ahma, put us at ease. We knew from the very start that not only was our daughter going to be well cared for, but we as a family would be well taken care of.

Finding a place where your your child is seen, heard, and loved fully is so very important. Ahma and the dedicated staff are so attentive and responsive, to everything we've ever needed. We get regular picture updates on what's going on every day. They serve all the students home cooked meals and snack - our daughter eats things there that she won't at home! They do darling art projects every week, learn about science and nature, and have an extensive arrays of culturally responsive books. Something that they believe in at TLF is that children deserve to be taught the truth, and that's exactly in line with our values as parents. We're coming to a time where we need to start working on potty training (something that terrifies me!) and Ahma has not only helped hold our hand in starting the process, she's also shared helpful resources knowing we were looking for help.

Since our daughter started at The Learning Forest, she has made so much growth! She's 2 now and knows how to count to 20, knows her ABCs, all of her months (and in order!). The teachers at The Learning Forest make it so much fun and my daughter just loves going to school. We've actually had a few times where she didn't want to be picked up, ha! Our daughter will be transitioning out at the end of the summer (only because she will be old enough to attend the school I work at), but we know this is going to be difficult for us as she's received the best care at The Learning Forest.

Our child started at TLFA at about a year old, and we are very thankful that we found such a wonderful place like TLFA! We were nervous about daycare as first time parents, but Ahma and staff made us feel right at ease. Our child was comfortable, well-cared for, learned and played, and made lots of friends. There were days that our child didn’t want to leave at the end of the day! We value Ahma’s commitment to making sure children were healthy and well, including feeding organic foods and spending lots of time outside. We would have continued at TLFA, but for our move. However, we are grateful for Ahma and TLFA because our child was in a loving, nurturing environment that helped her socialize and learn. We highly recommend TLFA for your childcare needs!

My daughter who was 1 at the time of enrollment, instantly feel in love with The Learning Forest. We had gone for a tour and my child didn't want to leave. This childcare/ school is Fantastic. It's a place that is warm and feels like family. The children eat hot home cooked meals, has learn time based upon age, play time and they are always learning new things. Everyone is Kind, Responsible and Respectful. If you want a great start for your child(ren) education, look no more this is it. I love this place.

I have seen so much growth in my daughters education within this pst year.
I love that she isn’t being taught the boring traditional way. She being taught in a fun exciting way that is catching her attention. Most importantly she’s being taught the true about our culture.
They staff is amazing.
I really hope in the future The Learning Forest will expand into a grade school. Our children need more teacher like Ahma ?

My, almost two year old, son is apart of the fawn group at The Learning Forest. Mrs. Amaris and Mrs. Debbie are amazing. l enrolled my son on the very same day of our tour, which was three weeks ago.

Already we have noticed a significant improvement in toilet training, socializing, and pre-verbal skills. He is so comfortable in the environment which is very rich with learning materials. The playroom, backyard and garden are very well designed. And the learning area is colorful and inviting with very educational toys from Lakeshore Learning. And a wonderful collection of books and musical instruments that reflect various cultures.

I feel very comfortable knowing that I will receive updates by their App, “Remind”, throughout the day.

He has such an active schedule that he is ready for a bath and bedtime when he gets home.
