Excellent experience! We were greeted immediately after entering the building. The layout of the gift shop and museum were explained and an offer to start a movie was extended. There was a lot of good information in the museum and the video gives such a greater understanding of the Iditarod, the handlers, and the pups. Excellent way to spend an hour or so. Highly recommend stopping by!

We visited August 2024. Small but worth the drive if you've seen all the other attractions in the Anchorage vicinity. Trophies are on display, and there is an informational movie they play periodically. You can pay for a dog sled ride on a cart. It's a short ride but you can buy multiple tickets if you want a longer experience. The taxidermied Togo is there in a glass display case.

Really small, the museum is just one room. The ride is 2 minutes in the wooded area. The dog owner is enthusiastic to answer your questions, and you can pet the dogs.

Since there's nothing else to do, I find it not worth the travel time from Anchorage, if you don't have any other plans nearby.

This is the HQ for the race and its history. This place also has the dogs that you can visit and go for a ride. I recommend both and you will enjoy this visit.

Take the sled dog ride, so much fun! But be advised the coupon they give you to return to their gift shop was not honored. Was told "online only" when I went to use it, but wasn't told that when it was given to me!

Nice small museum, with a movie about the Iditarod Race and several exhibits. Plus a gift store. Plus, out by the entrance there is a sled dog 'ride'.
