We signed up our 6 and 8 year old daughters and after 6 months, what an incredible difference. Both girls have read so well in school assemblies and their confidence has noticeably boosted. I can’t thank Sylvan enough for the progress my son has made! He has had small gaps in his english since covid due to having to be online for his first 2 years of school. I did try another tutoring place, and at first they did help, but over time I noticed they repeated worksheets and my son ended up just tracing or remembering the work. He was not really improving anymore.
Sylvan assessed him, found his gaps, and really targeted closing them. All his lessons are designed specifically for him, which is amazing. My son has been enrolled for about 5 months and they really helped. I have noticed he is now understanding what he is reading. His spelling and sounding out is so much better to. I am getting test back where he is getting only 2 or 3 wrong compared to half or all. They also really do care. We had monthly progress meetings to make sure he was on track and at the end of the meetings his teachers had a nice comment to add. Thank you Sylvan!

My 7 year old daughter has been attending Sylvan of Northridge since October 2022. She has made huge progress since day one. She always shares with me that she likes the teachers she works with. No matter how tired she is from school, when she sees Sylvan on her calendar she gets excited. Our daughter was struggling in 5th grade math. When we started at Sylvan in late 2023, she was performing below grade level in this area. From numbers and operations to fractions, multiplication, and geometry, many Common Core standards weren't being met. The pandemic of 2020-22, truly impacted the learning of all children. As her parents we saw the gap. Sylvan filled that gap. Our daughter committed to two days a week, two hour sessions, every week to gain the skills she was missing in math. While challenging she consistently learned and executed key foundational concepts that previously hindered her progress in 5th grade math.

We are proud to share that in March 2024, approximately 4 months after starting Sylvan, our kiddo is not only at 5th grade level in math but also received an award at her school for her mathematical academic standing. She gained the highest achievement in her school and was presented with the Principal's Award in Math Stretch Growth, performing at an increase of 42% proficiency over a 3 month period. Sylvan works! It truly has changed her academic life. Our daughter is more confident in math and this confidence has even impacted other areas of study this year. We are still at Sylvan and will be until her 5th grade school year commences. Even further, we intend to use Sylvan in the future, because a little help goes a long way.

Sylvan Learning of Northridge has been a blessing for my daughter. Sylvan helped her with her reading skills, confidence, behavior, and overall attitude towards learning. She is excited to learn new things now and even asks to do extra homework. Sylvan is also extremely flexible to help fit in with the schedules of working parents and students in school. Would definitely recommend!!!
