I would like to say Thank YOU SYLVAN for giving my child a chance at a better future. Thank you for being proactive in anything he needs to support him academically. Erin Nelson at Sylvan was phenomenal with updates on Kendall and giving feedback on what to do at home. Erin Thank you for being supportive to me as a mother and letting me know that I am not alone. Thank you Sylvan for being a village I never had for my child to succeed in his academics. Thank you for restoring my faith and helping me to understand my child better now that you’ve taken time out to evaluate him while stepping in to assist where he struggled academically. Thank you for everything. You guys really took my son from not being able to recognize letter sounds, blends and reading to understand to now Reading with little to no help. He fluently reads while pronouncing the letter sounds to a big word and can recall what he’s read. Even down to looking at the cover page and predicting what he thinks the story will be about. Before Sylvan my son lacked confidence in learning to read. Since starting my son has gained so much confidence in Reading that he now reads to his younger siblings. In Math he’s extremely swift. He can solve math problems without scratch paper. I hope Sylvan and every instructor that made an impact on my child’s academic success understands the impact they’ve made on me and my family’s life. I can never repay Sylvan back for what they’ve poured into my child. Thank you for such a great opportunity to be apart of a community that supports, encourages and lead when I’m too confused on the direction to take with my child. Thank you sooooo much Sylvan.!!! I’m extremely grateful and blessed to be a part of such a strong, humble and family oriented community.! With Sylvans help my son has only been with Sylvan for a year and he initially came in testing at a Kindergarten level while in the second grade. Now he’s in third grade and with the consist support and tutoring my son is now in third grade and testing at a third grade level in Math and approaching third grade in Reading. All of this is possible because of Sylvans instructors in Chicago at their Halsted location. Again Thank you all sooo much.! I can’t wait to see where my son places once this school year is out. 🙂

My kids love going to Sylvan for extra learning after school. They cater to each child’s learning progress. Ms Kate, the center director is very engaged and patient. She is knowledgeable and very willing to discuss learning strategies with parent. They have a token system to encourage the kids. We are very glad we found this learning center!

We have been at sylvan for several months now, the director is always amazing about emailing quickly and being available to talk whenever i need to talk about the kids. My daughter is more confident in reading and I love seeing the growth

Update: January 30th i have emailed twice without reply, i had an issue an now apparently can’t be talked too. So what i learned is that sylvan will reply quickly if they your agreeable and ignore you if have an issue

We moved to Chicago from out of state. Our children really struggled learning over the pandemic and they attended a school where we spoke another language. All this to say when we start at school in Chicago, they were very behind ant almost every subject. However, within the matter of months of attending Sylvan, our children not only caught up, but were no longer faced with the threat of being left behind.

This has been a great place for our children to grow and gain confidence in their abilities.

My son has currently been attending for only 3 weeks and I’ve seen improvement. He’s really eager to go and likes his teachers. I like that is a small group and how they motivate the students to keep on going.

I recently enrolled my 1st grader in the University Village Sylvan Learning Center. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to my son's needs, and their evaluation did an excellent job of identifying the areas that my son is struggling with. I highly recommend this learning center. I am very pleased.

Kate has done a wonderful job of taking extra time to sit down regularly and discuss my son Donovan's progress in the tutoring program. She's very accessible and easy to reach when any questions or concerns arise. Additionally, she has communicated directly with his teachers to facilitate and plan strategies to optimize his reading and writing skills. I'm very pleased with the growth and development he's made while at Sylvan and look forward to watching him continue to improve academically. I like this location because the center directors are responsive to what the students need. They really got to know my son’s personality and challenge him beyond what he is sometimes willing to do. Theresa is awesome with him!
