Sylvan has made a huge difference in my son's life. Before Sylvan, my son struggled with reading and had little confidence in his reading skills. Now, because of the tools and confidence my son has developed from Sylvan, he has started to enjoy reading. My son is enjoying reading so much that he has read and finished over 60 books in 3 months. I had enrolled my two kids for summer tutoring as the school they attend during the school year recommended summer school. Normally, they go to school in Minnesota but when in my custody I needed a solid option to help my kids to prepare for the next school year. Sylvan has been awesome in identifying problems areas and attacking them in fun and practical ways that engages my kids. I'd definitely encourage others to look into Sylvan if their kids are struggling with course work or confidence in school. My kids although still not quite where I'd want them to be for the school year are much better off.

Our son (age 8) has been attending for little over a year to get his reading skills up to 3rd grade level. When we started he was barely at kinder level and after this past year he is almost up to 3rd! He really enjoys the tutors, they are great with motivational techniques to incentivize good performance. The administrators were flexible with our work/school schedules and have kept us updated with detailed reports to see how our son was progressing the entire time. Definitely recommend this program for those who need the 1on1 dedication to get back on track or ahead of the game.

My 2nd grade son fell behind with his education and his confidence diminished. After working with his school and doctors (ADHD, Dyslexic), I searched for alternatives and found Sylvan of Abilene. They worked with us from the beginning and left no question unanswered. They created a personalized plan and consistently keep me informed of his progress. After a month, I have seen my son do a complete 180 and is excited about learning each day. The staff is wonderful and he can’t wait to see them every week. The quality of instruction he receives is 2nd to none and his confidence grows each day. They have done so much more than I anticipated. Our daughter started in September and it’s amazing to see how much she's blossomed in her reading and confidence! With having dyslexia, it’s been rough for her to keep up with schooling especially reading. I like that sylvan keeps us very involved in our child’s progress and doesn’t move on to the next thing until she is confident in herself. We would 100% recommend Sylvan to anyone!
