Westchestwr county is more beautiful, than any place I’ve ever seen in the southern United States, with this hills and mountains, is view of the Poconos, has waterfalls on the side, the road, seeing the water cascading from the rocks and I was just entranced by the landscape, and the sheep on the mountain side all of this, we’re only, a little, more, than, an hour away from the city that never sleeps❣️💯🤔👀

I went here for 2 semesters many years ago. I left when I had the misfortune to have Pamela Pollard as a professor. She is a terrible teacher and a worse human being. She turned a minor misunderstanding into a major issue with her screaming insults at me while I tried to just leave class. And the college wanted me to apologize to her. The arrogance was astounding. I left the school and never went back. This is a typical New York institution that doesn't care about people. I was disappointed to find she still works here, which only proves the lack of integrity that exists here.

I was discouraged by the incompetence and / or discrimination at this university! I barely made it out of the 8th grade bc of life circumstances! Life has been good & and bad. I've done ok without school. I developed skills in multiple trades and have a good work ethic. I decided to go because it was always my older brother's dream to see me go to school. He passed away Sep 2001, and he is buried in Valhalla at Gates of Heaven, so I figured I'd go to Suny westchester in Valhalla. It has been one hurdle after another from admissions to financial aid advisors. Does anyone have correct information here? Whoever is in charge of hiring needs to ensure they hire knowledgeable people. I walked in today & waited for 2 hours for the second time for financial aid. As soon as it was my turn, an advisor asked where I was from multiple times throughout the conversation. I found that odd and was waiting for him to ask me if I was really Polynesian! I told him and asked him the same and he replied Spain, I think his name was Jose, not sure. I told him recently that my wife and I are going through an informal separation, and that she lives and works in a different state and that we may or may not get a divorce. We may reconcile. The advisor wanted to change my 23 / 24 application to separated, and do other changes like estimate how much I paid in taxes even though I told him at that time we weren't separated and that i linked my taxes directly with IRS to FAFSA! So, I felt uncomfortable with it and that it would cause issues for me, so I told him to stop whatever he was doing and left. He didn't let me know that NY doesn't have "informal separation," so a friend told me yea that would have caused issues! I became unemployed after the padenmic due to vaccine mandates, which I refused and lost my job. So, I need financial assistance. Ive paid taxes for years, so i beleive i am owed that much and i believe I would have gotten better treatment and more information and help if I was still an immigrant and didn't transition into an American citizen! Let that sink in America! Or it was bc of my skin color and Jewish sounding name! Nontheless, STAY AWAY FROM SUNNY WESTCHESTER! I feel for the youth who are trying to go here for a better life! Go elsewhere and learn a trade skill!

This school seems to care more about money than its students. Statistics support this claim, with a graduation rate of only 28%. When I needed tutoring, it was unavailable when I needed it most. I distinctly recall a situation where the only tutor for a specific subject was on vacation just a week before midterms. I would recommend considering CUNY schools instead, as I regret attending this institution. It has fallen short academically and even in supporting former athletes like myself.

School is great to get some credits and transfer or to do a 1-2 year program. All the teacher's I've had have been very good and I've never had a problem with any students (although there are some blatant degenerates who attend, not unlike any other college). The main downsides are the terrible website, and the a lot of the older buildings on the valhalla campus, which is also covered in goose poop. Other than that, best bang for your buck.

Rude financial aid staff! Today I went to go get help with my financial aid, mind you nobody in my family has went to college so this is all new to us. There was this one staff there who was so rude and gave an attitude with me. I got no help with anything and had to do it on my own. The staff there say they are there to help you but some aren’t. Please don’t waste your money on a community college that won’t even care to help you, especially for people who don’t have any family or friends to turn to and get help with these kind of stuff.

Not bad for a community college honestly, and I was impressed with their phone service. Feels a lot more personable compared to my home institution.
