I personally don’t like this school at all. By far worst to years of my life. The amount of disrespect was crazy. I had my rude moments but only towards teachers who were doing the same to me. If the teacher staff was a lot more nice to the students then there wouldn’t be a problem. The art teacher and the two office staff were very rude to me and my parents. There are better middle school options that you and your child will be happy at. A lot of people said Summit Ridge Middle School made there 2 years of fun turn into depression. Also I got suspended and now I get treated way differently as if I am a criminal. Completely unfair and when something happens office staff chooses sides and won't make it fair. My parents agree with everything I have said in this review. My mom said she feels bad that I have to be trapped in this school for two more months. I ca not wait to leave 🙂

My oldest daughter just finished her two years at Summit, and she had the best experience! We have been super thrilled w/all aspects of Summit - especially the vast electives offerings! Although the school may feel large when you first walk in, the staff have implemented a team system at the school that eliminates that big school feel There are three teams -
green, blue and burgundy. All four core teachers (math, science, social studies and english) are all right next to each other w/lockers located right there in the hall. If you start in green as a 7th grader, you stay in green as an 8th grader, which helps to ensure continuity between students, teachers and counseling staff. Teachers provide lots of opportunities for students to excel at Summit! Our youngest will attend next year, and she's super excited! We couldn't be happier w/Summit!

We love Summit Ridge. My kids are/were in the blue hall and the staff in both 7th and 8th grade are phenomenal. They make a challenging job look easy. They have been nothing but supportive, dedicated, caring and outstanding teachers.

As an incoming 7th grader, I was naturally afraid of what awaited me at Summit Ridge. Would I do bad? Would teachers be mean? Would I pass tests? In short, my paranoia had gotten the best of me, as the two years I spent in Green Hall at Summit Ridge have been the best two years of my life (so far). Green Hall is filled with some of the most awesome people ever, and the best part is that they're all teachers! 7 Green has insanely encouraging and enthusiastic teachers in Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Landon, Mrs. Tamburini, and Ms. Clark. 8 Green is the same way, and Mrs. McDonough, Mr. Spencer, Mrs. Shapiro, and Mrs. Hecox did an amazing job of preparing me for High School. The curriculum is rigorous, but the teachers do everything they possibly can to help you understand it. If you have a passion for anything academic, your teachers will be behind you the entire way and help when they can. Ever since Mrs. Freeman helped me realize writing was my passion, she has helped me with all my outside writing endeavors, even though I was in 8th grade. The continuity of Green Hall has been amazing, as I have a strong bond with the teachers and the students. The electives at Summit are awesome, and if you get into Yearbook with Mr. Karabinus in 8th grade, you get to go behind the scenes of the school and produce amazing Yearbooks. Leaving Summit was tough, because by the end of 8th grade, I was so tight-knit with my hall that I couldn't imagine leaving. However, I feel 100% prepared for high school, and plan to volunteer at Summit Ridge any time I can. If your kid is respectful and kind to others, they will have no problem maximizing their potential at Summit Ridge. If you would've told me as an incoming 7th grader that I would be a Nuggets writer, upcoming author, and poet by the end of 8th grade, I would've thought you had a screw loose. Now, I can't see myself any other way, and that's all thanks to Green Hall and the amazing staff of Summit Ridge. Sorry I can't give you 6 out of 5 stars, Summit! I couldn't have picked a better place to spend my middle school years.

My daughter completed 7th and 8th grade at Summit Ridge MS. She had a great experience. The academic courses were rigorous. Most students in her classes were also serious students. Of particular note is Mrs. Cavaliere, the Orchestra and Band instructor. Orchestra was a safe haven for my child, where all of her friends gathered and supported each other. They also learned a lot about music in two years. I'm a proud Summit Ridge MS parent.

Mrs. Hecox uses positive remarks such as "Your out of this world," and includes a clever hand gesture as well. She believes she created the dance move, the matrix, and frequently uses this move at school socials and in class.
