Whether you are a military pilot or not, I recommend Strikehawk Aviation in the absolute strongest terms.

When I was first selecting a local flight school to earn my PPL, Bob Mitchell at Strikehawk Aviation was the first person that I contacted. From my initial ground lesson, I could tell that he was very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching flight students.

Earning my PPL was a challenging and rewarding experience. I feel that I received superior instruction. Bob is also a former Army Aviator that maintains his Piper Warrior and J3 Cub in top condition. I decided to return to Strikehawk for my Commercial rating too!

One of the best training experiences I could have asked for. Incredible knowledge and competence by the instructor and you feel a sense of ease as you are introduced to new concepts and skills. I feel I am a better aviator and thoroughly enjoyed the gain of capabilities after flying with Strike Hawk. Both experienced and inexperienced studebts have a lot to gain from this school.

I’ve received flight training at various flight schools and have flown with several flight instructors; Bob is hands down the best. He is a patient and thorough teacher, an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced pilot, and is very invested in his students’ safety and success. I have been in aviation for a number of years. I looked around my area and I can say without a doubt Strikehawk Aviation provides the safest and complete training possible for someone looking to just get their PPL or even further. I completed both my PPL and instrument rating with Strikehawk aviation. I was impressed the level of training not only prepares you for the check rides but their in-depth training gets you ready to be that single pilot in the GA world. If your looking to further your flight training or just get started. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STRIKEHAWK AVIATION.

Hands down the best flight school in the area: 1 decked out Piper Warrior (IFR), 1x Piper Cub, 2x CFI’s, military friendly family business. I have complete confidence anyone who follows the instructions from Strikehawk CFIs will pass their check rides. Trained for and passed PPL and Instrument check rides in less than 4 months (first-time-go) and have flown with CFI’s from every flight school in the area. Passionate and experience CFI’s adjust teaching style to best fit individual students. Extremely flexible and understanding, accommodating odd schedules flying early morning and late nights to suit student needs. Able to explain complex concepts with ease and provides insightful aids to simplify flying well. Understands high cost of flying and advocates for most efficient use of flight hours. Provides honest feedback and ways to improve during and after each flight. Trust and follow their instruction and you will pass.

Potential friction points include only one aircraft available for training, slightly higher rental rate (145/hr for AC and 50/hr for CFI) but worth the extra cost for best instruction in area, no complex aircraft available for their commercial pilot program, no Credential Assistance yet for military (may change in the future).

If I had to earn my certificates again I would go straight to Strikehawk Aviation.
