My child attended at Elmdale Elementary pre-K. I had to get a doctors note just to find out how my child was eating, if my child was napping or going to the restroom. My child was regularly fed “cookies” for breakfast. I had to get a doctors note for them to give my child more fresh fruits and veggies.
I begged for communication all year long in regards to what they are learning and I was told there were no themes that they were just preparing for kindergarten (which is apparently only at this location because there are lots of fun activities and themes at other locations according to this page).
When I would get the chance to drop in during the day I basically had to demand entry into the classroom and never felt welcomed.
The pre-K principle suggested to my child’s teacher to get an app that would allow them to share pictures throughout the day, however there are 3 school days left and the teacher still hasn’t found time to look at the app and it was suggested in September/October timeframe.
So this has been an all around terrible experience. I have met with the teachers and pre-K principal to try and fix things but it never did. They appear to have the mindset that when children are in their care you have absolutely no rights to know anything that your child does.
