I was looking for a formal training course to learn how to use and operate my handgun for home defense and found Spartan Tactical Training Group. I attended their 3-day Defensive Handgun Course and found this course to be the most comprehensive and professional firearms training experience I have ever completed. From learning how to safely operate the handgun during loading, unloading, reloading and clearing malfunctions, to deploying the handgun live-fire from the holster, this class exceeded my expectations! From start to finish, this class was informative, professional and fun and I HIGHLY recommend this class to anyone that is looking to make the transition from general hobby shooting at the range to learning how to use a firearm for personal defense applications. Just completed the 3-day defensive handgun course with my brother (56) and nephew (20). We have mixed experience levels and all of us benefited from the course. The interaction between the instructors and my nephew was really impressive. It just reinforced how important it is for him to learn solid fundamentals from qualified instructors for his own safety. The instructors were very knowledgeable, professional, and down to earth. There were three instructors for our ten person class. Highly recommend this as an introduction to Spartan Tactical. The curriculum they provide is great for any level of shooter. We all look forward to taking additional courses in the future. Just an overall outstanding experience.

I just completed five days of intensive pistol training with Spartan Tactical: 0800 - 1700; 900 rounds plus dry fire. Thirteen students and three instructors provided plenty of personal attention. This was an excellent experience. I can highly recommend Spartan if you want to improve your pistol handling skills.

Krupa keeps it real: he's as honest as they come with decades of experience to share, he doesn't beat around the bush, and he offers critical, life saving information backed by serious research and development. His group of trainers are all fantastic as well, with seemingly bottomless amounts of patience, knowledge, and expertise in what they teach. Took the 3-day Handgun course this past weekend and it was fantastic. Instructors were great as is the material/system they use for training. The foundational skills they have you train and then implement are solid and I really enjoyed it. Kind of wish I had brought something a bit larger than my subcompact 365 because everyone else had bigger firearms (compact or bigger), however I was able to run it successfully throughout the course. I'm looking forward to training with Spartan again in some of the other courses they offer.

I took a 3 day defensive handgun course and it was worth more than I paid for. I like how Krup would only let me take classes that he thinks I'm ready for. That says a lot about him and his company. I look forward to doing more classes with Krup and the gang.

This is a great school. I’ve taken a few classes at Gat Guns through combat pistol 3. Spartan has significantly better training from tried and true instructors with experience. Even if you’re not super pro cop, everyone is respectful and we all have self preservation in mind and the politics talk is kept to a minimum. You’re there to learn and there is a good emphasis on that. The syllabus is covered clear and complete. There are a lot of great drills and corrections when they’re needed. I took the 3 day class and the red dot class. Both teach you a lot and expose your deficiencies regardless of experience, so even in a mixed experience class, you get a lot of great information and knowledge.

John Krupa III has provided myself, sons and friends with the utmost professional and comprehensive firearm training available today. I have personally attended multiple handgun training courses, and Conceal Carry certification over the past 10 years and just recently completed the AR-15 /M-4 Rifle Certification Course along with both of my sons and close friend, whom I also put through Spartan Tactical Training for their handgun and Conceal Carry certification. Safety is paramount when handling firearms and #1 priority with Spartan. I recommend Spartan Tactical Training to anyone that has an interest in obtaining the highest level of firearm safety and shooting skills, not just in Illinois but anywhere in the country that I travel, and that's the entire United States. In each instance I have enrolled in various courses with very minimal knowledge /skill of my firearms and completed the training earning the highest Marksmanship Qualification. Testament to the quality and effectiveness that Spartan Tactical Training Group provides, and worth every penny.
