Least dingiest, most curated thrift store in the area. All products are in good quality, well priced, clean, and in working order. 3 day return policy is pretty good too. Good break for the local Goodwill.

These people are nuts for what they are asking for junk! I can’t believe all the positive reviews! For example they have a beat up love seat and they’re asking for $400… outrageous. 😂 I would never come here again. I’ve been here about 5 times since they opened, and once I found a decent Navy trench for a reasonable price because it looked new, but most of there clothes are old worn and unattractive. No reason to shop here as far as I’m concerned. I love thrifting and have been to most thirst stores in Illinois and southern Wisconsin, don’t waste your time coming here.

Edit: Now looking through the reviews I can see I am not the only customer with these observations of price point. Out of curiosity I looked up leather love seats on Marketplace in this same condition and the majority of what I saw ranged between $100 to $200. You can say all you want about the “factors you consider” but you’re asking for more than half of what people are selling them for. I seriously question the ethics of this business. I fully understand the negative reviews given by many other customers.

You have the sweetest man working the counter there (I'm drawing a blank on his name ?Dave?). He is truly a gem! I appreciate him reaching out to me when an item I inquired about became available. Made my day! Not only do you have great staff, but the presentation of the store is beautiful! Very well organized, clean and inviting!

Store is pristine and the atmosphere when I went was quiet, subdued, and tranquil. You can browse at your leisure without being bothered. The prices are super for a thrift store, UNLESS the item is New With Tags. But, they keep the NWT items segregated to their own designated racks, from what I saw. So, you won't be dazzled by an exorbitantly-priced ware on the vast majority of the sales floor. The items themselves are in great condition and everything is clean and attractively and organizedly displayed with care. Wonderfully pleasant experience. Also, if you're 62+, there's a discount day for you on Thursdays, just be sure to notify the cashier before they commence your transaction.

First time at Sparrow's Nest and I had such a fun experience. My adult son noticed a poster stating that there was a pink pig hidden in the store, and if you find it, you will receive a 10% discount. We weren't too concerned about the discount, but we had so much fun looking for it as we shopped. Such a beautiful thrift store with so many interesting items. Found a nice flower planter for next year's garden, a scarf and a necklace. He found a couple DVDS. Hope to return soon! And never did find the pig! Haha

I have spent hundreds of dollars here to support their mission. I had my three year old with me who was about to go to the bathroom in his pants. I had a bunch of things lined up to buy that we needed. They refused to let a 3-year-old use their bathroom and told me to walk across the street to the dunkin' donuts. I had all my little children with me. I will not be shopping here again. To do that to a mom who has all of her young children with her and I am trying to shop and support your mission is just ridiculous

My favorite thrift store in Grayslake! They are a great cause to support, run by friendly staff, well curated, and so much space to explore! The new mens area is a great improvement to the organization as well. The prices are slightly higher than other thrift stores but totally fair for the care they put into the items they place for sale. Plus they have a rewards program and a variety of sales every week!

First, I’d like to start by saying I’m a long time shopper of both the Mundelein location and Grayslake. I will continue to donate items to Sparrow’s Nest.

With that being said, what in the world is going on with your pricing? Last December I purchased several items that I thought were a bit on the high side. I’ve since been back three or four times to browse and left empty-handed. Not because I didn’t find things that I would have loved to purchase, but because the pricing for the items is so completely out of touch. I understand operational costs, etc. but when selling donated items, the pricing just seems absolutely wild.

Sadly, you’ve lost a long time customer.
