Wow! What an amazing experience! I got so much more comfortable speaking and understanding Spanish during our daily 1:1 lessons and conversations with program leaders and participants, plus met an amazing group of people, enjoyed a lovely homestay, went on lots of fun adventures, and learned about the history and culture of Guatemala. Steve plans an excellent set of experiences, and Blanca, Sory, and Luis guide the way through an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommended!

My family was part of cohort #9 and we really had a great time. I teach at a Dual Language school with a large population of Guatemalan families, and so I was hoping to learn more about culture and teaching. I was not disappointed; my 1:1 Spanish teacher went out of her way to help me learn more, and the visits to El Hato primaria were invaluable to me as a teacher. My partner learned some Spanish from nearly zero, and my 6 year old came home with solid Spanish practice as well.
Bring sturdy shoes and an umbrella, and be prepared for a wonderful experience.

Spanish4Educators has been an amazing experience. I loved traveling to Guatemala with my 12 year old daughter and fellow educators. This program provided me with this special experience with my daughter that we will always have these most memorable experiences together.

Also about a quarter of my students are from Guatemala and this will create a connection with them. I feel more confident communicating to their parents in Spanish. The program was very well organized and I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity.

Everything about this trip is amazing. Steve, Blanca, Luis, and Sory do an amazing job at making you feel at home. The food is amazing - there is nothing better than coming home to your homestay family and practicing Spanish. My Spanish was very basic, but I was able to really stretch myself and become better. I felt like we were an entire family. It has given me a better understanding of what my students feel like as they try to learn English.

Participating in the Spanish4Educators Guatemala Cohort#7 was an amazing experience! In 2 short weeks, I went from never speaking Spanish to understanding and being able to have conversations in Spanish, thanks to the skilled teachers at La Unión Spanish School. Our daily activities, from morning excursions to our 4-hour 1:1 Spanish instruction every afternoon, immersed us in Mayan and Guatemala history, cultures and language. Steve Foster, Blanca Solares, and Sorayda Gonzales put together an intentional program and I plan to attend again next year.

A wonderful trip to do as a teacher and my family loved the trip too... If you're nervous to travel with a toddler don't be and this is the trip for you!! We grew in our Spanish and loved our host family and the unique experiences being part of the group. Thanks!
