I can't say by others perspectives, but for mine, it's very smooth. The Gym room is very clean, well organized! First time here and great impressions. This gym is somewhat small compared to the YMCA in East LA. For anyone starting out here as well and don't want to look lost. Enter main door, walk down towards the right side, there's the main desk and card scanning decice. Enter the door and turn to a right, there should be stairs going up and you have arrived!

Edit: I have brought it down to 4 stars, reason being is that while coming here for the past few months, the weights aren't organized anymore. To many, this may be a small thing which it is, but to me, that's what makes a gym more valuable, not too many gyms have it organized due to not wanting to since people while just messed it up. But I still will continue going here until the day comes.
Edit 2: Currently 1/30/19, I've left this gym and went to another one, nothing wrong with the gym but it got kinda bored and wanted somewhere else where people aren't holding up machines or free weight area sometimes. I'll return someday but for now, onto another location. Also, please bring earphones or something to hear music, trust me, you really will need it to cut off the sound of the other groups and gruntings at times.

Love the staff and parents at this place! A great opportunity for kids to do constructive activities and stay busy. My babies take classes here and I am VERY grateful that the Y has committed to offer affordable classes and activities in our community.

I've never had any issues with any of the staff they have CONSISTENTLY been kind and respectful to us and I have two of the busiest kids n the Y. ( not bad just busy lol). I could definitely see that if patrons are BEING RUDE, impatient or intolerable they might get it right back and frankly as a parent here I'm glad the staff is standing up for themselves. People who take the opportunity to look down/mistreat or disrespect the staff here who are working and who have helped my kids and i frankly dont need to be here.

I'd HIGHLY recommend supporting the Y. It's truly a great opportunity for the youth. They build friendships in their community, stay active and learn. Unfortunately all kids dont have the best home/family/social situation however the Y gives kids a safe haven to go.

My only recommendation would be for the teachers to be a little more firm in reinforcing discipline with the kids for the sake of them learning however as a mom I do appreciate how gentle and kind the staff is with them.

Shout out to Miss Mieu (dance teacher) & Sensei(karate teacher). Thanks for all ur patience skill and time. It doesnt go unnoticed !! ❤️?

Staff answering phone calls are incompetent and provide inaccurate information. I was provided wrong information from multiple staff when registering my child for swimming lessons. They told me registration was only done in person. However, when I showed up on the opening day for registration as soon as they opened, they said all classes were filled with individuals who registered online. When messaging via Instagram they did not respond. Lastly, when I went in to purchase a membership the front desk ladies did not know how to process an application for a new applicant took us almost an hour with 2 staff people. In general, YMCA Staff lacks lots of customer service this arrogant community makes it unappealing and welcoming place for the community.

Incredibly rude staff. Insulted my intelligence and indirectly called me a liar multiple times in a less than 5 minute encounter.

I recommend everyone stay as far away as possible.

This is the fourth time I go to a group class and without any previous noticed, the classes get canceled. The excuse was that the instructor was sick for the Zumba classes and there was no excuse or reason on the cancelation for two of the step aerobics classes on two consecutive Saturdays. These four canceled classes happened in just one Month, May 2024 and I have been a member at this YMCA only for over a month. I usually attend the one Zumba class they have in the afternoons, and they have it only twice a week. The class is awesome and the instructor is very energetic, she is very good at what she does.
The front desk staff is really helpful and friendly.
I do not want to say that the problem here is the director’s incompetence and unprofessionalism .If one of the instructors is sick, he should have a substitute for that class to be instructed, but he prefers to save budget and be seen as a good director by the corporation, yet to leave more than 20 people per class in limbo. This director has not once come outside to apologize for the canceled classes without notice. Is the front desk staff who has to inform the members right when they had arrived for the class.

place is like a prison… they give so many rules to just get around to do anything. can’t just live a little… and think so much of people that are coming to support them. treat you low. they take things too serious. like it’s just come out and swim have a good time. then there is a life guard who is just always yelling at the poor little kids.

Lots of great activities at this Y. I've attended several community meetings and the parking was ample and the rooms and restrooms were very well kept. Rooms can get chilly, particularly in the gym because of the size. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Worst experience ever enrolling my son in this YMCAs basketball season, most of the kids quit, they show them no new skills and the staff is just horrible, I expected a better experience, I even cancelled my membership to have access to the facility even tho it was a great price for the whole family. Their is a front desk personal named Crystal, very rude and the director to that facility Claudia is just as bad, I went and spoke to her about all the things that I felt that were not satisfying my experience at this facility which were several and she had an excuse every single one, I went to cancel my membership 2 days before my payment due and I had to be charged for the whole month due to me not giving 15 day advance notice. I will never enroll in another YMCA again due to this experience. I referred a friend of mine and she enrolled her son and she just stop bringing him due to the unorganized issue, I kept coming due to me showing my son not to be a quitter, but I wanted to just quit so bad, I really hope not all YMCA facilities are as bad as this one
