After researching other test prep centers, we decided SMP tutoring would be best for our son. Their one on one hourly sessions with professional and knowledgeable tutors created a perfect environment for him to excel. Used SMP for my son, 2 weeks before the HSPT testing because I felt he could benefit from one on one review sessions. It was great. They were able to schedule him in quickly and anytime I wanted to add an additional time slot it was not a problem. He felt good and was glad that I registered him at SMP. I enrolled my daughter last year in the SAT classes offered by SMP Tutoring, and I must say, it was an extremely disappointing experience. I had high hopes for the program, but unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations.

First and foremost, the quality of the instruction was subpar. The tutors seemed unprepared and lacked the expertise necessary to effectively guide students through the SAT material. It felt like they were simply going through the motions without providing any real insight or strategies to tackle the exam. I was hoping for personalized attention and tailored guidance, but instead, she received generic and vague explanations that did little to enhance her understanding.

Moreover, the class size was unreasonably large, making it nearly impossible to get individual attention. There were far too many students crammed into one session, which resulted in a chaotic and disorganized learning environment. It was frustrating to have many of her questions go unanswered or receive rushed responses due to the overwhelming number of students vying for attention.

The study materials provided by SMP Tutoring were appropriate. The practice tests and resources were ok, but they could have added more practice tests for the amount of money being paid for this course.

In today's rapidly changing SAT landscape, it is crucial to stay up to date with the latest test formats and question types, but SMP Tutoring failed to do so. As a result, my daughter was ill-prepared for the actual exam, which was incredibly disheartening after investing time and a lot of money in their program.

Overall, my experience with SMP Tutoring's SAT classes was highly unsatisfactory. The lack of competent instruction, overcrowded classes, and again, subpar instruction made it a complete waste of time and money. I strongly advise against enrolling in their SAT program if you are seeking effective and personalized SAT preparation. Look for alternative options that prioritize individualized attention and up-to-date testing resources for a more fruitful learning experience.
