I have a lot of great things to say about Slauson Learning Center. First, I would like to say thank you to all the staff at Slauson Learning Center. Thank you all for being a support to my son while he is in your care. Mr. Lew, you have changed my son and my life for the better, during our interview, you assured us that my son would be safe and well cared for and that Slauson Learning Center has zero tolerance for bullying and abuse, which has been the case so far. The staff is very patient with the students, especially in this case, students with special needs.

Unfortunately, before we found SLC, we went through hell at other public and private schools. I now wish some of those schools had sent their staff to SLC for training on how to safely assist students with behavioral issues, such as ADHD and Autism, to better care for them during their vulnerable moments. At a previous IEP private school, my son was a victim of physical and verbal abuse by both staff and students. We eventually were referred to SLC after filing a complaint to the school district. Before then, my son was out of school for two weeks, during that time, I felt lost and emotional. I had thought about online schooling, Then I picked up the phone and scheduled an appointment with SLC, During that phone call, Mr. Lew sensed my distress and offered comforting words of hope in finding a school that would support my son's special needs. SLC has a remarkable history with students with learning disability.

It has been two years now, and my review on SLC has been long overdue because since that day, I have only cried tears of joy, My son has made an impressive improvement at SLC, He speaks highly of all the staff who assist him daily, he's excited to get to school now, he feels safe and heard, He now positively communicates his feelings, especially with things that would frustrate him that would usually result in an emotional melted down, He trust the staff to intervene when there's a problem, and they do, in real-time. (unlike at his previous school, he felt unheard and ignored.) I am no longer burdened by phone calls to pick up my son for any reason that the staff can handle. My son's IEP has improved, he's now on the highest level in his class.

I am so happy that my son feels safe and loved while in school, the staff treats us like family, and SLC has helped my son develop into a confident young man. I am truly grateful that a school like Slauson Learning Center exists. Prayers answered.
