I too keep coming back to Micah and Skyward for ice climbing adventures in Southwestern Colorado. I rock climb and ice climb on my own, but my progress has accelerated because of Micah’s instruction and tips, whether it’s ice climbing technique for a leader trying to move up through the grades, rope work or snow stability. We have climbed all over the San Juans and because he can lead ice safely at an extremely high level, he has opened my world to many incredible routes that I can return to on my own, as my skills progress. He is truly a master technician and guide.

I've been climbing with Micah Lewkowitz of Skyward Mountaineering for going on the better part of a decade and can't recommend the company enough. Primarily based in the San Juan range of Colorado, they have unparalleled knowledge of local ice, rock, and backcountry routes. They have also helped prepare and guide custom itineraries in the Cascades and Alaska. Micah is excellent not only evaluating climbing conditions, but also climber's capabilities and matching custom adventures that help to push ones' abilities while accomplishing goals.

With Skyward and Micah's guidance over the years I've become a much more proficient ice and mixed climber, and I look forward to a trip with them in the Denali range this coming May. Most importantly, my family knows that when climbing with Micah and Skyward, I'm in good hands.

Went ice climbing with Micah a few weeks ago and had a phenomenal time. I thought I was going to be in for a very long weekend after my first route, but Micah's detailed coaching got me feeling comfortable after a few routes. We got covered in a good 6 inches of snow but that didn't dampen Micah's spirit all weekend. Highly recommend going with this group!

We had an ice climbing intro with Bobby and Jessie in Ouray last weekend. It was fantastic. Both guides are super knowledgeable and pointing out areas of improvement, so that we learned a lot quickly. They made sure that we were save at any given time and flexible to allow everyone to learn at her/his speed. The organization of the trip with the office was easy and flexible - I can highly recommend Skyward Mountaineering!!!

Our experience was created for 2 families of with a total of 4 kids ranging in ages from 4 to 12. We all had the most amazing time on our custom-designed experience with Vince and Katie. They were both so knowledgeable and experienced, and they made sure that we had a safe and enjoyable time.

Vince and Katie started by giving us a thorough safety briefing. They explained all of the equipment and how to use it safely. The experience was designed to gradually acclimate us based on our skill and level of comfort, allowing us to experience a variety of climbs and navigating rock formations. They were very patient and encouraging, and they helped us to push ourselves to new heights.

Vince and Katie are the best guides we could have asked for! Whether you are an experienced climber or a beginner, using Skyward Mountaineering is an absolute must. I highly recommend this company and cant wait to use them again for future climbing experiences.
