I sent two children to Sherrie Clark, beginning when they were in the 3rd grade. Both children naturally took to math, but were frustrated by the pace and type of instruction in their schools. Sherrie did a fabulous job at explaining math concepts that made sense to their ways of thinking and helped them better understand the common core concepts taught in their schools.
One child is now a very strong 7th grade math student. Here’s his feedback about Sherrie and the classes he took with her: “Sherrie is a really good teacher and great at explaining math. The classes totally prepared me do well in Math 2/3 in 7th grade. The puzzles are fun and the work definitely challenges you in a good way.”
My 5th grader also enjoys her classes and the camaraderie of the other students he sees there each week. He takes pride in his math work and looks forward to her feedback (yes, seriously, he does).
Sherrie has a no-nonsense demeanor that can’t hide her warmth and care for her students. She follows up to ensure understanding and progress, celebrates their successes, and always welcomes them to come visit for extra time or help, even after they have left her classes. I highly recommend her to anyone who asks about math tutoring or classes, whether for a student who is struggling or excelling in math.
