The society has a wonderful goal of preserving the local prairie and its plant/animal spices. There was a depiction of a house from the 1800's inside of the main building, which was interesting and well thought out.

Worth a look cool story and history friendly people

Don’t come here. Went for a walk in the prairie on two separate occasions. The first time I had a volunteer approach me and ask why I was there. When I asked to be left alone, they followed me and demanded to give me a tour. I asked them to not approach me and they kept walking toward me until I had to turn around and leave. They were aggressive and mean, and I was nearly about to call the police, but they seemed like a bitter and sad old man. Second time; I entered from Cermak. Had a different person who also identified themselves as a volunteer stand in front of my car and then also question my presence. I told them I was just there for a walk on my work break, and they told me that was unusual. Absolutely ridiculous.
