The food is expired, and the produce always smells rotten. I know they are just trying to help struggling families, but they should still watch for expiration dates so people don't get sick.

Always great volunteers on Saturday parking lot day. They are really busy helping people out but they still take time to say hi and make you feel like a person. It doesn't seem like your in line at a food bank. They usually always have fresh fruit and vegetables they give at the pantry parking lot day. You don't always get fresh food at pantries or treated like your treated here! Really thankful for Sauk Valley food bank. Thank you!

Nice people but very disappointed about unloading and only getting leaf spinach and hand sanitizer I have never went to a food bank or food pantry to where I only got salad and leaf spinach and hand sanitizer before and this was my first time at ur guys organization I spent almost 2 hours there and ended up with nothing to even put in my house cause of what I end up with.

I helped with a food program for school age children called Buddy Bags. The folks at the Sauk Valley food bank were wonderful to work with as we purchased foods there that we could use for the program. They provide low cost or free foods to charitable organizations that then distributute to need qualified consumers for free. Their office and warehouse is always clean and well organized. They are courteous and helpful. The stock of offerings is quite large and well varied. These are mostly supermarket warehouse over supplies, aging produce, packaging/crate damaged food goods, discontinued products and outright contributions. I feel like they really care about what they do and who they are serving.
