It was happy hour (4-6pm). We arrived at 5:02 and waited until 5:17 to even get acknowledged. We finally ordered happy hour food and drinks. We got 2 out of 3 dishes we ordered (unfortunately the one we didn’t get was mine). We waited and waited for our waiter to come back to give us new drinks - never happened. Well after happy hour was over, he came back. We told him I never received my food but at that point, I was no longer interested. We couldn’t order more drinks because happy hour was long gone so we just paid and left. The food was good but overpriced even for normal California restaurants. Bruschetta was normally $19 for 4 small pieces - nothing spectacular. Happy hour prices were cheaper but still not even close to being worth it.

We’re fine with paying for higher end meals. Nothing new. This just is way beyond reasonable for what we received. It seems like a good place but just way overpriced. The happy hour drinks were reasonable though and they were made well. They definitely need extra staffing in the bar on the weekends.

This is one of those places that could really do better and be amazing. The financial potential and the atmosphere is there. I wish I owned this place. It’s beautiful on the inside and they have so many wonderful and creative dishes. They just needs to create a better value.

Nice restaurant for a romantic dinner. Food is very good, big plates. A little bit on the high prices ($30 up for entrees), but we really enjoyed it. We ordered the wedge salad It was so yummy, pork chop and salmon. Don't skip dessert: Bread pudding!! It was one of the best I ever ate!!

Ribeye was great. We sat in the bar area by the fireplace, which was actually more quiet than the main room. Hostess was super cool about giving multiple seating options. Seems like there was an initial mix up regarding who our server was going to be, but once that was sorted, service was good. Will definitely come back next time we're in Arrowhead.

The 12 oz New York strip steak was very tasty and the green beans on the side were very tasty! The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty as well. My wife ordered the crusted double pork shop and enjoyed it. For dessert I ordered sea salt caramel gelato with chocolate truffles and absolutely loved it.

My husband and I spontaneously decided to have a quick overnight getaway in Lake Arrowhead. We booked a cozy cabin at the Saddleback Inn, where we were pleasantly surprised to discover an onsite dining option called the Saddleback Grill! What excited me even more was finding gluten-free options marked on their online menu.

Inside, the ambiance was warm and inviting, a welcome respite from the cold and snowy weather outside. Although the menu in the restaurant itself didn't indicate gluten-free options, we simply referred to the online menu. Additionally, the chef graciously came out to our table to discuss my allergies in detail, ensuring that my meal would be prepared safely.

After careful consideration, I decided on the filet mignon served with mashed potatoes and carrots, all of which would be cooked separately in clean pans with clean kitchen tools. Every bite was delicious, and I felt completely at ease knowing that precautions had been taken to accommodate my dietary needs.

My husband also ordered the onion soup and said it was the best he has ever had. Not gluten free though.

Meanwhile, my husband, who doesn't require a gluten-free diet, opted for the pork schnitzel, which he described as amazing. We also enjoyed a beet salad, which left a lasting impression and is something I would definitely order again.

The drinks we ordered were the Paloma, and an old fashioned which was a bit sweet and had crushed ice. My husband had a manhattan later in our evening and he said that was the best of the drinks.

Overall, our dining experience was exceptional, and I wouldn't hesitate to order the same dishes on our next visit. We're already looking forward to returning to Saddleback Inn soon for another memorable getaway!

We would highly recommend the Saddleback Grill. The food was delicious, especially the New York Strip and the cocktails were beautifully made (the French pear martini was amazing)! Our server Andrew was super friendly and very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. A wonderful place to go for dinner.

Its rare to find the perfect combination of a cozy bar and fine dining restaurant. Nearly impossible to find this in a tiny mtn village high up in the forest. This gem does exist. At Diane's Saddleback Grill in Lake Arrowhead! This incredible place is made even better by the charm and service of Andrew our waiter and Yasmin the bartender. Always attentive, warm, cheerful and fun. Great food and vibe. Easy parking for the 4wd. We may just move up fulltime because of them!! Can't wait to come back.

Good food in a nice venue. Everything was pretty much ..good. Nothing great. Given a lower rating based on value because for those prices you'd expect a lot more.

The menu is heavy handed with thick sauces. It's like no dish can stand on it's own without being covered in some gravy of some sort. They even feel compelled to put whipped cream on the espresso martini. The vegetables tend to be string beans, the starch mostly mashed potatoes and rice. Food comes out lukewarm. This is the kind of restaurant parents loved in the 70s.

True to that the drinks were surprisingly strong and and large and therefore a good value. The other plus is that likely due to it's prices and menu selections it's not so much of a family restaurant as so many of the other places on this lake are, hence it's much quieter and more intimate.

If you want a nice quiet intimate dinner in a nice setting with some strong drinks and maybe a couple of appetizers to share it will serve that purpose well
