This is probably one of the better schools in the area. However, my kids prefer their previous school before moving here. Average education. If you have a gifted child, they won’t be challenged. It really depends on what teacher your child gets. There are great teachers but there can be a lot of social pressure & misunderstandings between kids (even with teachers) when there is a conflict. I do understand the stress but the kids self esteem gets affected. One teacher purposely didn’t give my child (plus 2-3 others!) a cupcake that another student brought as a birthday celebration. The teacher ate the “extra” for herself & gave away the rest to visiting students. One student went up to get his missing cupcake & was told not to let others know. My child remembers the teacher stood nearby to hide the cupcakes. When my child asked, teacher said it was all gone & said she should have spoken up. These were treats brought by a student & should never be used against a child, especially without reason. The birthday child definitely saw & felt uncomfortable. Teachers underestimate these children as they are young but they carry these memories growing up. Compared to other schools, I still recommend this school but prepare your child on how to cope with teachers/children who may cause shame or guilt. Highly recommend having them read lots of books to help build their communication/social skills. I suggest the school allow anonymous reviews from students quarterly/yearly so that teachers can reflect for improvement too. Also separate the gifted students so they can learn together at a more challenging pace.

This is a Great School with Great Teachers, but I really do not like the no kindergarten and short day Mondays. Also, the whole parking and pick-up/drop-off arrangement does not seem very well thought out. Drop-off is not so bad because everyone comes at different times, but pick-up is a nightmare. Twenty minutes is minimum unless you are so late that your kid is the only one left. Regardless, the school makes it worth all the hassle.

My highly gifted son attended kindergarten and one semester of first grade at Christa McAuliffe prior to moving out of state. There was more differentiation in his year and a half at McAuliffe than the remainder of his years in elementary, middle and high school combined. Very thankful he got such a super start! We still have fond memories of that time.

My child transferred here from another school, two years ago, she was excelling when she transferred and now she is so behind. My child is in 6th grade, her math teachers approach is if you can't figure it out, circle it on the board. My kid still doesn't get the guidance to figure it out. Now my child made a rude comment to her teacher, which was only brought up at confrences, so I had my daughter write a letter of apology and a note from myself asking the teacher to return it to me to ensure she recieved the letter. My daughter gave her the letter, her teacher said "an apology is only sincere if it comes from the heart". Letter was not sent back to me. So I sent an email, " could you verify that my child at least have you the letter" no response to me. Instead, to my daughter "I got the email from your mom" . getting so frustrated with lack of progress from my child with this school, so tired of lack of communication, SO TIRED OF DRIVING 45 MINS TWICE A DAY GETTING HER TO AND FROM WITH NO PROGRESS!

Parents, teachers and students at this school are extremely disrespectful to visiting schools. I recently attended for a basketball tournament and the parents from this school were extremely rude to the other teams players throughout the whole game. The staff only stepped in when another schools parents were becoming rowdy. They allowed their students to be extremely disrespectful to referees and the visiting teams.

S. Christa McAuliffe STEM Acadmy has to be one of the best schools in district six. One plus of this school is that the school has expanded to a K-8 so you only have to go to one school for elementary and middle school. Also, McAuliffe has a growing music program of which Mrs. Kapel is the director of. With 8th grade being added on next year, there will be a beginning and advanced band and choir at this school for middle schoolers. There also is a 3rd-5th choir named the Silver Falcon Singers of which Mrs, Kapel works tirelessly with after school two times a week. The teachers are also extraordinary. They will help your child grow academically as he/she gets older. I insure you that any of the teachers your child will get will be helpful in their growth. Mr. Peterson, the principal, will help you with the open enrollment process if you or your child is interested in going to McAuliffe. His email is on the McAuliffe website. Trust me, you will not regret going to McAuliffe.

Ghetto? Maybe parts of Greeley are, but not this area. This is one of the highest performing schools in the Greeley school district and is far from ghetto. Must be someone who just got fired or a student or parent that couldn't follow the rules. Good school, good teachers.

This school made learning fun for students and it was fun I would stay after school for programs and activities. There respect was better than the school I go to.
