I organized a three day Gunnison Canyon Float with Rigs and can't say enough about what a positive experience it was for me and my 3 friends. From initial reservations, to communications, to answering questions, to briefings, and safety; RIGS did a tremendous Job to ensure we were prepared and safe. The actual excursion was a blast. The Guides did everything within their abilities to ensure our needs were met and that we had a great time. Heck, they even gave us perfect weather and great fishing!

I was a bit tentative on doing a multi-day float trip. Now I am looking forward to scheduling my next trip with RIGS. I highly recommend!

The guides at Rigs made our trip memorable and meaningful in every possible way!
NOTHING beats making a great memory with friends and these guys delivered BIG TIME! Spenser, Drew, Chris, and Sam were fun, professional, and masters at their craft. They carried our bags, cooked our meals, untangled our lines, set up camp, gave great angling tips, and made 4 Army buddies feel like we were staying at the Ritz! These guys were exceptional and outstanding from start to finish! Dang, what an amazing lifetime memory you guys just gave us - THANK YOU is totally inadequate to express how phenomenal this trip was and how fantastic these guides are!

Outstanding outfitter. Took my family of 5 and my 80 year old mom on a Gunnison float trip. Guides were knowledgeable, patient, and well equipped. Boats were comfortable and easy to accommodate two active casters. Mom was good to just chill and read a book and enjoy the scenery and drink beer while we fished. If we wanted to switch up to dries or streamers the guides were more than accommodating. The Guides were great regardless of experience level. Great scenery, great fishing, great trip. Excellent outfitter - excellent guides. Thanks Again to Chris, Jack, and Sam and the Staff.

My wife and I had a fantastic trip floating the Gunnison River with Sam from RIGS Fly Shop. We caught a bunch of fish and the scenery was amazing! Sam worked hard on the oars to put us on fish, and did a great job of coaching Lisa. She has very little experience fly fishing for trout and he had her hooking and landing fish in short order. He is a great instructor and also very knowledgeable about the beautiful landscape we floated through, which made for a great day all around. The Gunnison River trout are strong, beautiful fish and this trip put us on some great water to find them! We highly recommend RIGS and their guide staff to anyone.

Incredible experience! The crew from RIGS has the trip down the Gorge nailed. Everything ran like clockwork. Our guides put my buddy & I on fish every day. I ate more & better for the three days we floated than I do at home. The set-up at camp each day was well thought-out, and the equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc) was all top notch. I highly recommend if you have an opportunity to book a trip, do it!

Everyone we met at Rigs was very knowledgeable and willing to help us plan our fishing time while in the area. We scheduled a Lower Gunnison float trip for our group of 8 and it couldn't have gone better. All of the guides were extremely professional and friendly. I've never seen a more organized fly fishing operation.

During our trip to Utah and Colorado for my son’s high school graduation trip, we wanted to try our hand a fly fishing. After reading reviews of guide shops in the area, we settled on Rigs and booked a full day trip. The booking process was super easy and they contacted us the day before to make sure we didn’t need anything and that we didn’t have any food restrictions for the provided lunch.

We arrived at the shop a little before 8 to check in, sign waivers and get fitted for our waders and wade boots. We then met our guide, Benny, who drove us to the river to start our day. We started the morning about 8:15 with basic fly fishing techniques. By 9:00am we had both caught our first trout. The rest of the day was similar, with us moving to different parts of the river, Benny showing us higher level techniques, and catching more fish. We caught 8 trout that day (and hooked a few more that we didn’t land), but we were the only people I saw pull a fish from the river.

All in all, the trip was everything we’d hoped it would be. Big shout out to Rigs, and Benny specifically, for making our special trip even more special.

The Fly Shop has all the flys, gear & local water knowledge that is needed to fish the Unc, San Miguel, lower Gunnison, and other area waters.
We floated the lower Gunnison with shop guide, Mac. He is an outstanding guide. He is very knowledgeable of the lower Gunnison and selected the right flies for us to have a fun and memorable float.
