Went there with my sister and nephews. It was a lot of fun! The person running the museum was so wonderful and showed us around. She showed us the cool player piano and rare record player invented by Thomas Edison. The train and cowboy history was so interesting to look at.

Smaller museum with the history of Ridgeway and surrounding area. Great and friendly staff. Plan on spending an hour or perhaps more if you're engaging in conversation with staff. Worth the trip it's something you're doing for part of the day.

The Ranch Museum is a wonderful addition to Ridgway. There is a slight fee for the indoor portion. Outdoor train rides are free on the weekends--I believe Friday and Saturday. I've been to better museums with more exhibits. However, the staff is knowledgeable and willing more so than most historical sites to allow kids to touch and interact with the objects they have. This allowed for some fun experiments with rotary phones, record players, and school desks. The staff wants to engage with you, share their knowledge of local history, and boy, they have loads of it! Overall we enjoyed this site.

This is such a cute museum, and within walking distance from Hartwell Park, Second Chance Thrift shop, the Railroad Museum, as well as Cimarron Coffee! All the items they have are interesting. I especially encourage a look at the fireplace with rocks from the local area, and seeing the historical kitchen!

I greatly enjoyed my visit to the RIO GRANDE SOUTHERN RR exhibition which gave me very detailed insights into the days of narrow gauge railroading in the area. The museum is operated by a group of highly skilled and knowledgeable volunteers who are enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. My sincere thanks to Karl and Chris for giving me an exclusive tour!
