My daughter has been doing group Math classes with Mehr for the last 2 years and really enjoys them. Mehr is very organized and systematic in teaching the material. She goes over the concepts covered in school which help solidify them. Extra practice problems given during the sessions really help my daughter apply the learned concept to practice. Overall, OpMath is a fantastic place to learn Foundational Math.

Opmath has been amazing for our kid Arjo. He has gotten much more confident on his abilities and his mental math capacity has grown a lot. He loves going to OpMath, working with Mehr. We love Op Math. I work at a Google company and I looked up “math tutoring” in a parent forum and a deluge of opinions were returned. Clearly a topic of great interest! Op Math stood out. I was drawn to how fellow parents described the Op Math teachers and how resoundingly effective others said the tutoring work had been. As the mother of two young daughters I also appreciated that this was a women owned small business.

My daughters don’t shy away from giving me a brutal review. What about Op Math? They say “it’s perfect.” They appreciate the “nice teachers,” the quiet, the skylights, the simple snack, they both say it’s easy to do math there, that they can focus. And “I like how the teachers talk to me.” Both have taken to Op Math as part of their regular activities 1-2x a week. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, they want to keep going.

My kids are young, in elementary school, and sure their speed and confidence with computation has improved here, but their self-identity as math people is what feels worth the endless investment as a parent. They now talk about math as something that grows and changes as you get older. They see teenagers coming in with “really big books that are full of complicated problems that they figure out with Mehr.” It’s not unlike how they report on sightings of local teens consuming boba. Equally cool. They feel very much a part of the Op Math vibe sitting there in pigtails diligently working on an activity book with animals and basic fractions adjacent to a teen working on derivatives in AB Calculus material.

Op Math feels like a gift to my daughters that I wish I could go back to my own childhood to have had. A place where they feel involved and supported, where it is easy to focus, where questions are welcome and explanations are kind and clear. Where the math culture is not daunting or competitive but warm and inclusive. A place where women doing math and teaching math is an everyday matter. I wish every kid could have all of this.

I can't recommend OpMath highly enough. We've tried multiple different tutoring agencies and individuals and hands down, Mehr and her team are the best! When Mehr started working with our student we saw an immediate change in confidence and enthusiasm for Math resulting in stellar results.
