This longest standing boys and girls club in the US is a special place. The Club is an environment where kids from West Chicago experience casual joy and are safe from the immediately nearby gangs, drugs and violence. The staff are amazing, former members of the Club, who truly put blood, sweat, tears and heart into building amazing young men and women. Volunteer, donate, and get involved!

The Off the Street Club got its name honestly. It is place that is needed for the neighborhood it is in. It truly gave kids a place to go instead of being in the streets or being isolated at home in an area that was run by gang activity when I was a member. I attended "The Club" as a grade school kid all the way till graduating H.S. and going to college. I was exposed to so much that I probably would not have encountered from going camping in Wheaton, to learning woodworking skills while in 5th grade, to learning how to play Fuse Ball. I can say that this exposure helped land my work study job in college as a Theatre Set Designer. I was even offered an opportunity to play Fuse Ball professionally. The Off the Street Club is a great place to be a part of as a member or an adult that come to volunteer their time. Its something I definitely took advantage of doing when I became an adult.

I spent most of my childhood at the club and I will say that if it wasn't for the staff I wouldn't be the man that I am today. Going from member to junior staff introduced me to the working force of the world. Ralph, Arnett, Ms Holmes, Ron Cass, Fred and Roy " may he rest in peace will always be in my hearts. The clubs gives you a place to be if being at home is not enough, it also gives you a place to actually be a kid. The place is packed to the roof with different programs and learning opportunities as well as games and toys etc. When school is out for the summer you can look forward to summer camp which is the icing on the cake. The one thing I loved the most about being at the club was how our grammar got corrected when we spoke wrong. That lesson follows me till this day and I do the same for my children. I will always love The Off The Street Club they are a part of me.I give the club five hearts because stars aren't enough. 💗💗💗💗💗

I went to the OTSC for a few years when I was young, loved the environment they set forth for the kids, I miss all of the staff that was there when I was there, Fred - Computer Teacher, Roy - Art Teacher, Cass - Graphic Artist, Ron - Gym Coach, Ralph - Director, Arnett - Asst. Director, and a host of others I can't forget, may those who are gone rest in peace, I miss those days at Camp David, walking the Moonlight Trail, or going on the Star Hike, and those memorable Holiday moments that had our hearts filled with joy, torturing at with Time Life, and the Atlas Club, I can go on and on about the things I've learned, and the bonds that have grown in this place, but this is a brief summary of the fun I had at the Of The Street Club

Thanks For Everything,
Vernon Livingston
