We have been with Troop 161 for 9 years now, with one Eagle Scout, and two more active Scouts still in the Troop. The Troop has a strong partnership with the Niwot community, supporting its parades, clean up days, Rock n Rails, and other community events.

Troop 161 places a strong emphasis on developing leadership skills among its members. Through a combination of hands-on experience and structured leadership training programs, Scouts are empowered to take on leadership roles within the troop and beyond. Whether serving as patrol leaders, organizing service projects, or leading camping expeditions, Scouts have opportunities to hone their leadership abilities and learn the value of teamwork, communication, and decision-making.

Niwot Troop 161 has both a boys and girls troop which are very active in the not only the community but are also very active in nature. From monthly camping locally in the Rocky Mountains along with high adventure camps over the summer, this troop is amazing! The boys troop has been going for over 60 years and has over 100 Eagle Scout Graduates. If you are ever considering scouts, this troop has been great for both our male and female youth.

With more than 100 Eagles since 1960, Troop 161 is a thriving high adventure troop with year-round camping, fun activities, and great community support! We love giving back through our service projects. We welcome boys and girls (age 11-18) to our Troops (B & G) and our Pack 161 for younger cub scouts (K-5). We are grateful to the Left Hand Grange for supporting all of our scouts as we keep growing well-rounded active youth leaders in the Niwot area.
