Two of our children (grades 4 & 5) completed remedial work with Next Step. It was not an easy decision, as the cost was more than we had paid for previous reading work with professionals. We ultimately decided to move forward, and I would pay the cost again. It was WELL worth the investment! Both kids saw great improvements in their fluency and comprehension. Most importantly, we watched them transform from timid, inaccurate readers to children who were proud to read aloud. It was not easy, but taught them an excellent lesson about doing the hard things necessary to unlock their potential. And the instructors were right there next to them cheering them on every step of the way... even on the hard days! The positivity and genuine care they showed the kids was deeply appreciated, and the "nuts and bolts" of the program work better than anything (or anyone) we have used in the past. I especially appreciated the pre- and post-assessments and the open communication between family and Next Step team. Highly recommend.
