Mr. K’s Floral Design school was the absolute best investment I have made in myself in a long time. Over the 10 week course on Friday evenings and Saturdays, we learned so many design styles from sympathy to wedding, flower and foliage types, went on a wholesaler field trip, made our own designs, and learned about the business of the floral industry. Everything you could possibly need to know in order to begin a floral business. Amber, Mr. K, and Mrs. K were incredibly knowledgeable, patient (I tend to overthink everything and take twice as long to make arrangements, and they never rushed me), and very enjoyable to spend my weekends with. When the class finished I was honestly sad it was coming to a close because it was the highlight of my week! There was so much hands on and 1:1 time as class sizes are small. My favorite part of the class was coming home with 2-3 arrangements or designs every week and showing them off to friends and family! Thank you for all you did Mr. K family!!

I had the absolute privilege and honor to have Amber as my teacher. She was really knowledgeable, experienced, and patient. I learned so much in the five weeks that I was with her. She covers everything from a business standpoint down to pricing and services. The classes are small which allows her to do one on ones and help you more in depth. Occasionally Mrs. K would jump in class and give you advice which was always helpful being that she has been in the business for 20 plus years. If anyone is considering taking a floral class I highly highly suggest Mr. K’s flowers as they are the best in the business.

I had the privilege to attend Mr. K's design school this year.
I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience this was. Amber, the grand daughter of Mr. K, was our instructor and she was fantastic. I appreciated the linear curriculum that was delivered in a comprehensive and fun way. The duality of business coupled with creativity gave the classes a very dynamic and accomplished feel. I was always surprised how quickly the time would go. Everything was covered from special events, weddings, funeral and everyday business.The information included the imperative timing of ordering flowers where they would be at their most beautiful when delivered into the hands of the consumer, how to prepare for large orders without waste and ensuring the best care was always taken in every step. I appreciated the mathematical information about pricing margins and cost of operation. This course was a perfect marriage of art and commerce. There was a very diverse collection of people in my class, which was very fun. I appreciated how embracing and patient Amber was. After taking this, it also became clear that the family who runs this business is of the highest ethics and have the most beautiful hearts. I learned so much and will be forever grateful.

So happy I took this course. Mr. K’s floral design class was a great mixture of design and business information. We went through different types of designs/styles, flower and foliage types, as well as went and toured the wholesalers in the Denver area to get more familiar with all facets of the business.
We worked with flowers every day and learned different techniques and answered all of our questions. The class size was small so you were able to really intake all the information that was given so you felt way more knowledgeable every day you left.
Amber, Mr K’s granddaughter, was so knowledgeable and sweet. She really made me feel happy to be there and made me feel confident in my ability to design and create.
Overall I loved it, and am sad there is not another course to take, if there was I would definitely do it! 🙂 can’t wait for our paths to cross again!

This was hands down the best decision I have ever made. I took Mr. K's 6-week full course from June to July 2020.I learned the basics, everyday design, wedding, and funeral arrangements - basically everything I needed to begin applying for jobs.

I walked away with several job interviews lined up shortly after. I'm so grateful to have him as my mentor. He and his family are friendly, helpful, and extremely supportive. I walked away feeling like they were my own extended family.

I felt very safe and all COVID precautions were taken throughout.
