I am so grateful for the love and care my daughter was shown in her two years at Montessori. Not only was she able to learn, explore, and grow in ways that have prepared her for school, but it has sparked confidence and a love for learning in her that will help prepare her for life. I love that the approach to learning is individualistic - they cover a broad spectrum of topics, but the children can learn and explore based on what interests them and progress at their own pace. Above all, she has flourished from being in an environment where she was fully embraced and loved for who she is!

Thank you to a wonderful place that made us feel welcome and our child felt loved, protected, and learned through developmentally appropriate practice. We loved to see the growth of our child through social/emotional, fine motor, gross motor, language, math, and many cognitive skills. Montessori philosophy helped with all the skills my child has gained while attending. We know she is ready for her next adventure because of the great environment she was in at Montessori.

I think most parents agree, ā€œit takes a villageā€¦ā€ and I can honestly say, I’m so very grateful the teachers at Montessori were a part of my children’s village. Even as a parent I sometimes found myself as the student, reading the ā€œconscious disciplineā€ newsletters. Thank you to all of the teachers and administrators helping our kids at this crucial stage in life.

Montessori Children's Centre is amazing! My 3-year-old child is naturally introverted, and this is her first out-of-home daycare experience. Being an educator, I really wanted her to have a curriculum focus throughout her day. Montessori allows children their own time to get comfortable with home-to-school transition. Within weeks our child became a student! The teachers are highly knowledgeable, but also extremely caring. The experiences offered are very collaborative, so although my child is assigned to one classroom, she has relationships with all staff members and other students. As a working parent I have the peace of mind that my child is in a safe, loving, learning environment. My family made a great choice in entrusting Montessori Children's Centre with our child.

Montessori Children's Centre has provided our children with the best learning, loving, and caring environment during their preschool years! They are given the opportunity to learn and grow independently, under the care and nurturing of teachers who truly love these children like their own. The only downside? They move on from this loving place when they start kindergarten. šŸ™‚ Our family LOVES Montessori.

Our family is thrilled with our daughter's experience at Montessori Children's Centre (MCC). Teachers are highly skilled as well as being warm and caring. The curriculum is impressive, and we know our daughter will be well prepared for Kindergarten. Of course, MCC is about more that academic preparation; it is helping her relate to the world around her and be a better human being. We cannot say enough good things about MCC!

I have two sons, both who have grown up here in Bloomington-Normal. When my first son, Evan, was ready for preschool, we started looking for options that we thought would fit well with this personality and the way that he seemed to learn best. Somewhere where he would not only learn specific facts, or even concepts, but which would hopefully build on his love for learning. We were lucky to get a referral from a friend to investigate the Montessori Children’s Centre in Bloomington.
At three, I expected that Evan would have trouble leaving the house for school every day. He has a close bond with his mom, and I anticipated resistance and apprehension. The teachers and staff though at Montessori were so loving and engaging, that after the first week, Evan was excited to go to school. He learned not only classic preschool curriculum, like basic language and reading skill, math and music, but also practical skills such as folding clothes, using a kitchen and household items, and helping with younger siblings. He was so proud to come home and show us what he learned every day. I also expected that eventually that would wear off, but Montessori was so flexible, that he never got bored. When he became proficient at one thing, he simply moved onto another, at his own pace. In fact, what I had hoped would happen, did. He loved learning, and he saw his teachers as his allies in learning. He respected them, listened attentively and he worked hard to meet the expectations they set before him. Best of all, those early attitudes continued into kindergarten…and then to 1st and 2nd grade…and so on, into 7th grade today. He is still has a positive and motivated attitude about learning and he still works hard to succeed in school. He also still has memories of his preschool teachers at Montessori. While he doesn’t remember every detail about them all, he remembers that he loved going there and that he was always someone special to them.
As luck would have it, our second child, Oliver, has had the same type of experience. Oliver’s personality is different than Evan’s. He is a little more free spirited and open, and I worried about whether he would fit as well as Evan did, but in the end, that was all in my head. Oliver also loved Montessori, and came away with a love of learning as well. What interested me most though is that they accomplished that without quashing his personality or changing who he was to conform to any ideal. Oliver is in 2nd grade today and is also a good student, yet he remains different in many awesome ways from Evan.
Both Evan and Oliver directly have directly benefited from the success they started at Montessori, and for that I am grateful that we were able to have that experience here in Bloomington.
