I worked at Misericordia for six months as a CNA on the morning shift, which was convenient for me as a mom. However, my time there revealed that this place is not what it seems. While the work environment looks appealing from the outside, the reality is that morning shift CNAs are overworked and underpaid compared to second shift CNAs, who are paid more simply because they are understaffed.

Misericordia is always hiring, yet they remain chronically understaffed. This adds to the heavy workload, making it difficult for the staff, especially CNAs, to keep up. Management does little to help ease these burdens. Instead of offering support, they frequently asked me to stay late, and when I declined, I would receive disapproving looks.

I raised my concerns about the workload and management practices with HR, but instead of addressing my issues, they removed me from the company email system. This felt like a clear message that they did not value me as an employee.

The only thing I will truly miss about this place are the residents, who were the reason I stayed for six months. I remained because of them, not because of management or HR.

Overall, this place does not value its staff, especially those on the morning shift. Misericordia may seem like a caring and supportive environment from the outside, but behind the scenes, management falls short in supporting their overworked staff.

Our 28 year old son has been a resident at Misericordia. They are the most caring and loving people. We have a 31 year old daughter who is also special needs. She lives in a group home that is not run by Misericordia. The organization who run her group home are good, but not on the same level.

Misericordia is an amazing place that deserves lots of praise. The residents are very friendly and love visitors! They like to socialize and have friendly conversations.
My experiences while taking a tour were amazing and I have no complains. I believe they were going through some remodeling because of the fresh paint smell and workers going around and fixing some walls, but other than that there was a lot of artwork and history oc Misericordia on the walls.
Speaking of artwork, the residents enjoy doing art. All of them are so talented. You are able to purchase some of their work in the gift shop.
The bakery is great. They make treats and sell them for great prices. It always smells yummy.
Misericordia is a fun and amazing place. If you do plan on taking a tour, take your time and really look through the different parts.

I sneak in once a month for a luncheon at the Cafe (old one)

It's always a nice experience and we even have a game to play together after lunch now!

Truly a wonderful experience. Our server, Steven, was attentive and the buffet meal was fresh, tasty, and had a great variety of choices. The ribs were the special of the day and did not disappoint.
