My daughter in Yr 11 has been attending Mathstar on a casual basis for a couple of years now. Her experience has been good, and experience can vary between tutors, as naturally each tutor has their own communication style when it comes to explaining complex Maths concepts and problems. There have been countless times where I have sent Sheryn an SOS text message after a melt down, desperate for extra help just before a major test or SAC. Sheryn always tries to accommodate and support us, which relieves a lot of anxiety in the household. Thank you !!!

Terrible experience. Don't go here if you have a year 1 student that needs help with learning to read. She told me to come over for testing to which she spent like 5 minutes with him, (amongst 1000 other things she was doing) and then said she couldn't help him with phonics work . That's the whole reason I wanted a tutor for. What' the point of having a tutoring business then if you can't help! She then said he was too behind and referred him to another place that had 'the resources'. She clearly works on her own and does not have staff. Terrible experience for a mother who is looking for someone to help her child. She also provided this feedback in front of my child and other people there. Very humiliating and hurtful. I have since found a great tutor that does 1-1 and has given me great feedback about helping my son and he is doing great.

My 13 year old son had his first session last night.(fractions)
He came out of the session smiling, eagerly informing me that he had learnt so much in the hour, learning so much more than he had at school, in the past few weeks. A huge thanks to his tutor. Highly recommended.
