Sam is an absolutely brilliant teacher who puts thought, time, and energy into his lessons by using real world examples to teach mathematical concepts. Knowing that my son enjoys music, Sam used a piano keyboard to demonstrate ratio and proportion. It was a break-through moment, the concept clicked, and it sparked my son’s interest in math.
My son’s math challenges are a combination of not having a proper math foundation and the class moving on to advanced material before he was ready. Before long, the concepts began to feel so far out of reach that he stopped trying to learn them altogether. After working with Sam for eight weeks, my son’s grade went from an F to a C and is still rising. Seeing that his grade is improving has helped boost his confidence and he actually looks forward to his tutoring sessions.
As a parent, I really enjoy the convenience of being able to book tutoring sessions online, affordable pricing, and excellent communication. After each session, Sam emails me a recap of what they worked on that day, what my son needs to work on independently, and any other items that should be accomplished before the next session. For example, asking the teacher for review material or the date of the next exam. I wish we had sought out Sam’s help earlier, but am extremely happy that we are working with him now.
