I had a great experience at Manhattan Prep where I took a GMAT prep course with Logan Thompson. His teaching style was very engaging, constantly seeking feedback on where we felt we needed more help and probing to make sure we understood each point. I went into the class feeling pretty apprehensive about the exam and came out feeling confident in the core strategies I learned. My score from the exam was ~50 points higher than when I first took a practice test and was good enough to get into my target schools, so thank you, Logan!! I'm also appreciative for Logan encouraging us to stay in touch after the class and provide his input on our business school application and decision process!

Manhattan prep is awesome! If you're looking for a tutor I strongly recommend Logan Thompson. I was really plateauing when I decided to give tutoring a shot, and decided to go with Logan after seeing all the great reviews-- and am I glad I did. With his help, I was able to break the 700 mark and make my dream GMAT score a reality. Not only did Logan help me learn the necessary material specific to the GMAT, but he also gave mental tips and tricks to make me a more confident test taker in general.

I cannot recommend Logan enough if you're looking to improve your GMAT.

I cannot highly enough recommend Logan Thompson as a GMAT adviser / Manhattan teacher. He is patient, thoughtful in tailoring in each class to student needs, and is genuinely and earnestly there to support you. Here is my story:

I decided to take a Manhattan course after base-lining around a 720, but had reservations about how expensive the class was and whether a 'general' gmat class would help someone who already was doing well. Logan helped address these concerns when I talked with him, and from the very first class through my own GMAT (well after the class) applied his background in mindfulness and the Manhattan network to answer a steady stream of questions -- form grappling with understanding the theory behind tricky problems to helping me study more effectively. Even with a range of skill levels and even English proficiency in the class, each day was carefully and thoughtfully tailored to student needs.

What set Logan apart from another excellent teacher was his integration of mindfulness into the classroom. Rather than reducing the content we could cover, taking 10 minutes each class to learn about and practice applying mindfulness in a GMAT and high pressure environment helped the class stay more focused and more quickly move through questions. Hopefully his lesson designs will be adopted by Manhattan more broadly as there sounds to be wide interest, but regardless, no one will do it better than Logan.

I sat for the GMAT this past weekend, and scored a 780. If you are uncertain whether to take a class with Manhattan, talk to Logan who will happily skip any sales and cut straight and honestly to helping you think about your needs and options. But if you do take a Manhattan GMAT class, do so with Logan.

I took Logan Thompson’s Manhattan Prep GMAT course, and can’t recommend it highly enough. Logan is able to tailor the class to the learning style of each student. He focused not just on making sure we were all rock solid on the concepts, but also on the strategy and general test taking skills (how to beat anxiety, how to get your head out of a negative feedback loop, etc.). So much of the GMAT is a mind game – I was grateful that Logan prepared us not just for the actual questions we’d see but the rigor and strategy of beating the test as a whole. The way Manhattan Prep structures the course and practice sets made it doable for me to both do justice to my studying and work a full time job. I started off with a sub 600 score on my first practice test, to scoring over a 700 on the real test ~10 weeks later!

This review is for Logan Thompson. I signed up for Logan’s class in the winter of 2017 in Boston. Logan’s approach to class worked wonders for me. He explained concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Given the immense amount of stress students feel around the GMAT, I found that Logan’s calm and assured demeanor put me at ease and put me in a mental state where I could do well and succeed on the test. His classes were fun and laid back but you learned so many different tips and tricks to unlock the GMAT. Logan was always willing to further delve into topics that you were having trouble with or didn’t understand completely. Instead of outright giving you the answer, he would make you think it through yourself- a skill that proved to be helpful for me on the GMAT. Logan was a superb instructor and a very chill dude!

Couldn't be happier with my Manhattan Prep experience. Sign up! If you do the work and stay active, it's absolutely worth every penny.

My instructor, John Cho, was fantastic, and if you can find a class he's teaching, I'd highly encourage you to join it. First of all, he knows the GMAT (and LSAT, and just about every other test) inside and out, and is excellent at building the reflexes that help you avoid pitfalls and traps. He's great at keeping everyone involved and making sure every student is seeing the progress they're hoping for, which is especially important in a class environment. Perhaps most important, he's an outstanding motivator and mentor, and was able to strike the perfect balance of pushing me to do better and instilling self-confidence for test day. My highest recommendation (and thanks) to John!

Regarding the Manhattan Prep course more generally--I signed up at the recommendation of a friend and was honestly a little hesitant because I was worried a group setting might not turn out best for me, but I couldn't have been more wrong. For one, it keeps you on schedule, but just as important, it forces you to really slow down and learn to think through the "insides" of the problems. You'd be surprised how much you learn by hearing other people explain their thought process on problems when it differs from yours. The class setting also means that you're practicing problems with that added sense of urgency and healthy pressure (since you've got a few people around you working on them too) that translates to management of nerves and pressure on test day. As for the curriculum content, it's really second to none. I felt absolutely prepared by the material I received from Manhattan Prep and have no doubt you will too!

I had a terrific and experience with Manhattan Prep, and specifically with my course instructor, Daniel Fogel. I took an LSAT course that met 10 times for three hours each over the course of 12 weeks. After enrolling in the course, we had access to almost endless online materials, including video courses, dozens of practice tests, and the Navigator, a helpful tool that aids students in tracking their practice test performance. The pace was just right, and Daniel balanced his high expectations of his students to complete the coursework outside of class with the flexibility and awareness that students are juggling studying with other responsibilities. Manhattan Prep's course materials were extremely thorough and surprisingly readable, compared to other standardized test prep materials I've used.

I couldn't have asked for a better teacher than Daniel. He always made it clear to us that if we were willing to put in the time outside of class, he was too, and he absolutely stuck to that promise. He always responded thoughtfully and promptly to e-mail questions, and clearly understood each of the students' strengths and weaknesses. I never felt like we were being lectured - classes were always engaging and conversational. It's clear that Daniel has a deep and extensive understanding of the material, and he is able to communicate his knowledge in a clear and straightforward manner.

Most importantly, my practice tests have reflected the effectiveness of the course, as my scores have been steadily climbing since the beginning of the course.

I also appreciated that Manhattan Prep's headquarters and the folks at the student center were always very easily accessible. Customer service couldn't have been better.

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone seeking an effective and comprehensive LSAT prep course!
